Michael’s Moving and Storage

I used Michael’s for a recent move from Harvard Square to Back Bay for both packing and moving. The staff is extremely efficient at their job (there’s a 3-​hr minimum charge) and everything arrived in good condition. However, I took off one star since they changed my window from 2 – 5 pm in the morning on the day of the move to 4 – 5 pm and were eventually 1.5 hours late, which pushed the move several hours behind schedule. The actual move only lasted around an hour. Only if they were on time, the move would have been perfect.

Not only did I have Michael’s remove all of our belongings from our condo, but I also had them put it into storage for a month during renovations, and we just got everything back last week. The team is efficient, fast, and careful with everything; plus, they remembered where everything came from, and put it back in it’s rightful place. I can’t thank them enough! In fact, I recommended them to my daughter and her family, who will be moving to a new place next week. Thank you, Michael’s…I will DEFINITELY recommend you to anyone I know who might need a moving/​storage company!!!

Just moved from Boston, MA to Kirkland, AZ and chose Michael’s Moving and Storage for the job. Very happy I did, I was taken care of very well from quoting the job to the arrival of my freight. Customer service is A1 in my book, there was always someone available to update my status along the way. Freight arrived just fine with the accompanied professional driver & helper. Also, Michael’s recommended a wonderful car carrier transport business, I chose as well, that they work with. Very happy customer!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with Michael’s Moving and Storage. From the moment I greeted them at the door they were processional, courteous and had remarkable attention to detail. After recently losing both my maternal grandparents I inherited a beautiful antique dining set and a few other irreplaceable family heirlooms. My items were handled with pristine care and transported in perfect condition. Due to the fact that my husband and I are Military and stationed in Germany, it was necessary to place the items in storage. Based on the time the items will be stored, my intention was to cover the items in the storage unit to keep them clean. The gentlemen that provided the moving service were more than willing to do this for me as they placed the items in the storage unit. If you are looking for a professional and experienced moving company, do not look any further, Michael’s will not disappoint.

Fantastic experience at a fair price. I was nervous since I have a lot of antiques but had absolutely no damage. The crew was polite, punctual and extremely conscientious in wrapping everything up and the move went very smooth. I can highly recommend Michael’s and will use them again when I have to move in a year.

I can’t say enough about the service and the entire experience offered by this company. I had a particularly challenging move that occurred in 2 stages through the course of a week and required storage in between. From the initial booking process to the actual move dates, everything I was told would happen did happen. A team of 3 arrived precisely when I was told they would and no time whatsoever was wasted. They immediately got to work and were organized, professional and personable throughout. My things were treated with care and carefully documented. I have used many movers in this area and Michael’s is my new standard.

We used Michael’s twice and they were a dream.
One move was from two different homes into a storage unit. They were very flexible about packing the truck at two stops and found a way to make everything fit in the truck. They were on time for their arrival estimate and finished faster than they had even estimated. They wrapped our mattresses and safely packed our large TV and some art. The crew worked incredibly quickly and nothing happened to any of our belongings.
They were so great we made sure to use them a second time. Our second move was out of that storage unit and into a third floor walk-​up apartment. The crew got everything upstairs quickly, reassembled our bed frames, and put everything where we wanted it. Again, the move was even speedier than we anticipated and all of our items were moved completely unharmed.
The crew was kind and friendly the entire time and worked incredibly quickly. Freddie’s crew was fantastic. We will definitely use them again.

I have used Michaels twice and both times have arrived on time and with enough movers to quickly and efficiently get the job done. The movers are friendly and will bring boxes/​belongings wherever requested. The customer service is great — it is easy to book movers and if I needed to adjust anything I was able to easily get ahold of someone. I highly recommend this moving company and am glad I found them!

Extremely efficient. Michaels moved me from Beacon Hill to Scituate. Hilberth, Angel, and Sig M showed up to the house at 7 am sharp. Had the truck loaded by 8:30 (1.5 bed house plus plenty in the basement). They were down to Scituate and unloaded by 10:45. Originally quoted me $ 1,100. Because of their efficiency the finally bill was $ 900. Very very professional. They had 4 other moves that day so there was no messing around. Hilberth, Angel, and Sig M were very professional and personable. Highly recommend.

Michael’s did an excellent job with our move. The estimation process was smooth (and turned out to be spot on accurate), and they were always responsive to phone calls, questions, etc. The movers showed up on time and were courteous, hard-​working, and unbelievably fast. I would definitely use Michael’s services again.

This is my 2^nd time using this Company. Again the crew did an excellent Job. The crew was very courteous, professional. I have used them within the Boston area as well as out of state. All my furniture and boxes (including the fragile one’s) arrived without a single scratch. My best friend has also used them without any inconvenience. I highly recommend this company.

We had a cross town move in the Boston area. The ordering and quote process was professional, comprehensive, and easy. On the day of the move, the team showed up on time, were courteous and efficient, and did a great job. They finished on time, and the price was exactly what we were quoted. A couple minor snags came up along the way, and the team handled it very smoothly without inconveniencing us or piling on extra charges. The couple times minor bumps and scrapes came up during the move (which is inevitable) they were up-​front and honest about it, and asked us to check for damage (there was none to speak of). We were well prepared and clear about what we wanted, and Michael’s did a great job of listening to and accommodating our wishes.
A couple notes:
— The truck (25 ft) was bigger than we had envisioned, so make sure to be prepared for that.
— Do everything you can to clear spaces for the truck before hand (which means coordinating with the city (s) a bit and notifying your neighbors as best you can). The team did their best to be flexible, but with a big moving truck, you really need to be prepared.
— If you have your own moving stuff (tape, padding, covers, etc.), let them know. They might charge if they use their stuff, but they’ll use yours if you have it.
— Be as prepared as you can. You’re mostly paying for the movers’ time, so don’t waste it with stuff you could have done beforehand (e.g. getting stuff boxed up). If you have everything ready to move they are *very* efficient at moving it. Save yourself some head/​back/​wallet aches by being ready.

This is the second time I’ve used Michael’s Movers in seven years. I called them on my latest move because I was so happy with their service in the past. I’ve also recommended them to family and friends over the years and everyone has raved about them. From the very start of the reservation process with Freddy to the last box being unpacked by Felix and his team, it was as easy as a move could be considering I encountered delays because of the buyers of my place and the attorney for the sellers showing up up late. The guys looked at me and said don’t worry we’ll get it done and they did. They unload the truck in 2.5 hours and they checked in with me throughout the process to make sure the furniture was in the right place. (This was furniture and personal possessions that fit into a 1300+ sq foot condo so not a one bedroom apartment.) I would recommend that you spend your hard earned money and hire Michael’s Movers. it will make the experience easier and it will be worth every penny.

I used Michael’s for the second time in July 2015. The first time was in 2010, and I remembered having great luck. This time was even better. The crew was great in all regards. On time, didn’t break anything, efficient, respectful, and everything you could want. Before we started, the quote was refined a few times, and when you we were done, they actually beat the quote by a few bucks — which was great. All told, a great experience, and I will call them again.
