Anderson’s…

It all started with a son and daughter of Swedish immigrants. Carl and Greta never dreamed that some day their common Swedish name would be recognized throughout Western New York for quality and value. Through hard work, they developed a frozen treat that had fabulous taste and still does a half century later.

In 1946, Anderson’s Frozen Custard was started on White Plains Blvd. in Bronx, New York. Homesick for Buffalo, Carl and Greta returned and opened another custard stand on Kenmore Avenue in 1947. After establishing their reputation with hard work, quality products and value they moved their small custard stand to a vacant lot in the country in 1953. This original drive in location on Sheridan Drive still exists today.

This tradition has been passed on to another generation of Anderson’s, with dedication to the same quality and value as Carl and Greta. Stop in and visit one of our fine locations, and enjoy what folks in Buffalo have enjoyed for years.

Well, it was awesome as usual. The roast beef is out of this world and being in the same place to get dessert is wonderful. The young African American man with braces who cashed me out was nothing but nice. The negative stereotypes others may have about his race are completely false and outrageous. The only thing I have to say is that I wish the sandwich was bigger, but I could have gotten two orders.

Anderson’s is a Buffalo staple! Their roast beef sandwiches are great, and pretty authentic for the area in my opinion.
The real show stopper is their ice cream! They have hard and soft ice creams, along with a wide variety of sundaes, Arctic swirls, and other delicious concoctions. My favorite is the Reese’s Pieces Sundae which comes with vanilla custard, hot fudge, peanut butter sauce, and Reese’s pieces. You can add whipped cream for a small additional amount. It is slightly expensive in my opinion ~$ 10 for 2 sundaes), but very good none-​the-​less!
Anderson’s also has a variety of frozen cakes. I personally haven’t had one, but they do look quite good!

Great place with some amazing ice cream! My son wanted a hot dog lightly toasted and they did the hot dog lightly toasted. The ice cream was some of the best ice cream I have ever had! The roast beef was the best sandwich I have ever had, and I love everything at this place!!! The workers are so nice and make sure that you want everything that you need. Only thing is they can’t pronounce a name for monkey poop. Only thing wrong with the place… Still gets 5 stars!

I love Anderson’s more than anything! However, I tried their macaroni and cheese for the first time today. I have nothing but rave reviews for everything on the menu… except for the macaroni and cheese.
It looked like it was going to be good, because it did not have the fake bright orange cheese look to it. A friend of mine had tried it before on her BBQ roast beef sandwich and she said that she enjoyed it, so I had high hopes! Upon my first bite, I received an overwhelmingly salty flavor in my mouth. I hoped maybe it was just a bad bite, but as I continued eating, the flavor remained the same. I can tell that if they had added less salt, it would have been a decent macaroni and cheese, albeit a semi-​bland flavor (nothing that makes it more special than any other macaroni and cheese). Nonetheless, I was disappointed.
I also had a cheeseburger, which was delightful. I knew this beforehand, as I have had Anderson’s cheeseburgers before. I also liked the setup of this Anderson’s, as it was very large inside with ample amounts of seating.
Overall, a one star deduction for the saltiness of the macaroni and cheese. I am still Anderson’s #1 fan!

Nice little ice cream parlour with both hard and soft serve, as well as a diner type menu (though we only had ice cream).
Interior is bright and friendly and staff were quick and courteous. Just a couple blocks from Walden Galleria.

I love roast beef especially when its rare, hadn’t been to andersons in a while so I stopped by. Very disappointing the beef I quess sits under lights or in a cooker so it was all Brown AND the size was 5oz. To small for the price in my opinion, upon leaving got a artic swirl it was ok. Nothing spectacular here so Im still in search for a great roast beef sandwich maybe I’ll try schwelbes

Great for very old people and very young people.
Basically anyone who would wear a Shirt with a Disney character on it, and it would be appropriate, would be very comfortable at Anderson’s.
If someone took me here on a first date I would order and eat everything on the menu and then never talk to them again.

I’ve never been to an Anderson’s before (don’t shoot me, I’m a transplant). I was expecting a sit-​down restaurant, not fast food so I was a little taken back.
The roast beef is awesome and I LOVE having an ice cream shop for dessert to go.
Half-​price cones while it’s snowing makes a great excuse to leave the office and run over for a treat. :-) Happy Snow Day.

Stopped here with mom for a late lunch today after running errands.
I ordered my usual– a # 1 on weck, plain– with a side of gravy.
The beef wasn’t as good as the beef at the Main St., Wmsvl. location. Tasted old, kind of dry. Plus the typically delectable Costanzo’s weck roll seemed toasted and too was dry. Weird. Their gravy was also sub par– tasted too flour-​y and like it was diluted, again compared to the Main St. location.
Overall disappointed in the beef, roll, and gravy but the curly fries were as delicious as ever. Maybe it was an off day. I’ve eaten here plenty of times and it didn’t seem this blah.
Also, the dining area was dirty– no clean tables– and the back rests on the chairs are uncomfortable.
I love my Anderson’s but this time it wasn’t as good as at other visits/​locations. Disappointed.

Anderson’s frozen custards are yum! I went around 5pm on Sat. and it was not very packed but service was excellent. I was greeted with a smile and the girl there was very patient with me. Building had a clean atmosphere but at that time I did notice one lucky fly who got in.
The ice cream custard is a good deal, but the roast beef… I’m not too sure. The roast beef slices tasted fresh with ample horseradish flavors (optional) in it. The bun was sufficiently decorated with large chunks of salt.
For those with high blood pressure I would be cautious with the amount of sodium intake when eating any wecks.

Awesome ice cream selection. Love their banana cream pie! Everyone on the staff have always been super friendly. Sometimes, depending on the person, the portion you get for the price you pay doesn’t really add up, but its probably better for my ass that I don’t that get the extra few ounces haha. All in all worth the stop. Luckily there are a few locations around buffalo to enjoy this gem!
