Studio 59 Aveda Salon & Spa

I can use only Aveda products; so I use only Aveda hair salons. I moved from Atlanta to this area and made an appointment at Studio 59 because it was a full service Aveda salon. When I called to make an appointment for color and cut, I was told I had to come in for consultation on a separate day first. Now. who has time to take an extra day to do this? This can be done when you go to the Salon. So after 2 phone calls and some emails, they accepted the formula that was being used and I had to send a picture of myself so they could see my hair, which I thought was a ridiculous request. They charged $ 55 for a first time women’s cut, which is way too much for any salon in Chattanooga to charge. They said it was because I didn’t have a beginner stylist. I wasn’t offered a «beginner» stylist, nor was I told there would be 2 people servicing me. I wasn’t made aware that prices varied on the stylist’s level of expertise. I had experienced this in Cleveland OH where this is standard practice in an Aveda salon but in no other city. I used 3 Aveda salons in the Atlanta area, and my cut here in Chattanooga was no better than I had received at a regular Aveda salon in Atlanta. The process took much longer than expected or wanted. One of the items on the receipt was HP: Happiness.0.00. Good thing… I was not happy with price versus level of service.
So this will be my last trip. I don’t have the time or want to spend the money on color and cut that is no more special than any other Aveda salon. I can drive to Atlanta and have my hair done cheaper and spend less time and hassle (even with the drive). I think the higher prices are to pay for the Spa part, which was being utilized very little while I was there, and overhead of the property.

The salon was clean & everyone was friendly. The day I went in it was really quiet which was nice. I made my appointment for cut & color. The salon sends you a text to confirm the appointment and later one to remind you. My color ended up a light brown with some red to it which was not what I had asked for & that evening while out for dinner my boyfriend noticed a bunch of the color was all over my left ear. The salon was nice but I don’t think they’ll see me back anytime soon.

I got a horrible haircut at another salon in town, and was referred to Studio 59. I was so amazed by the job the stylist did. She fixed my cut so well, I stop to look at it every time I pass a mirror! I really can’t believe how she was able to transform it into something I love. Very talented and professional. I paid less here than the first place I went and that price included her full attention, shampoo, quick massage, cut, style and face powder! I can’t say enough good things about this place. Looking forward to my next appointment!

What a great salon experience! I was in town visiting family and thought I’d try them out since they are an Aveda salon. I only got a haircut, but I received the royal treatment from a relaxing scalp massage and a quick shoulder/​neck massage to a powder and lipgloss application after the haircut.

I love getting my haircut here! You get what you pay for. The stylists are very good at what they do. I go to the same girl every time. I have sent my mom and dad there and they both had different stylists and loved them!
I would definitely reccommend this place to anyone who wants their hair done right!
