Went there tonight on a whim, They have tons of seating, But I cannot imagine them ever having to use it all. The selections on the buffet weren’t very plentyful, They had more deserts and salad stuff than actual chinese food. Requested a high chair for my son, Which i had to retrieve myself. The food wasent very good at all. Save money and go to the one by Hamilton place. Has me shitting like a blue goose. Wont be back at all. Even if it were free.

Run… don’t walk from this place. Smells like mothballs — I’m not joking. Food is atrocious. New food is mixed in with old all the time and the grease at the bottom of the pans is disgusting. Does not seem clean. Staff is totally disinterested in serving you.

As a native Chinese, I’d like to provide an honest review. The chef is Mexican lady, don’t get me wrong, I like Mexicans. This is a small buffet restaurant which has few dishes, very few people eat here, food are cold and owner is reluctant to add new food until the container is almost completely empty. This is below average Chinese buffet, will never come back. It does not even deserve 2 stars, very disappointed. I am very confused how this place can receive more than three stars, you need to stay away this place…

Today’s lunch ! Awesome buffet busy lunch about 50 food items or better all hot and ready. Salmon was awesome, seasoned and cooked almost to perfection as so is the baked fish, all dishes was good no point in delaying it ! We will be back 2 adults and a 5 year old 23.00 what a deal.

This place is a solid buffet. The sushi was even pretty good for a buffet. The crab legs were so so. I think it is really easy to make a bad Chinese buffet but tougher to make it good/decent. This place was average to slightly above average. For the price and selection I will definitely be coming back. The Mexican restaurant in this shopping place is also decent.

Have to agree with Robin D on everything about the food and the treatment from the staff. They’re serious jerks. There are better places to buy generic chinese food from.

I was in town for ruby falls/rock city for the night. Great quality for the food. Crab legs included in the dinner price. Fresh hot food. The fruit bar is fresh and nice. Waiter service is excellent and friendly.

If anyone thinks this is the best Chinese/Asian buffet in Chattanooga then you must have been to only two. One horrible one and New China Buffet & Grill. I went today based on these two ‘glowing’ reviews. Obviously these reviewers must have gotten free food or were paid to give the review they did. The food is not bad… but it’s not great either. Marginally average. It’s the same prepackaged sauces and meals that every other restaurant gets from the Chinese buffet meal-in-a-bag distributor. There’s not a homemade element in a single item on the bar except maybe the fried chicken which was dry and hard as shoe leather. I could tell if it had been fresh it would have been good… I think they battered it in some kind curry before the flour and deep frying. This is the same restaurant as China Gourmet in the Walmart shopping center on Browns Ferry Rd in Lookout Valley. I don’t mean similar food. I mean it’s an identical clone, so it must be owned by the same people. Exact same floor plan. Exact same décor, tables, chairs, buffet tables. And the same nasty baked potatoes with a massive amount of mayonnaise slathered on a split potato, covered in cheese and then placed in a broiler. We eat at the China Gourmet from time to time. It’s no better but again this place is not that bad, just the McDonald’s of Chinese buffets… same stuff you can get anywhere and it’s average tasting, but OK. Though I will never be back to this New China buffet. We got some of the prepackaged/frozen, already made dumplings that they heated up in a skillet. Well, they were cold. Not warm… literally room temperature. I stopped the waitress as she walked by and told her they were cold and would she please ask them in the back to make some fresh ones. She stared at me, rolled her eyes and walked away. About 5 minutes later, she came back and said«FIVEMINUTE!» in a slight unpleasant tone. I checked in a few minutes and yep, there were fresh ones on the bar and tasted pretty good. As with every Chinese buffet I’ve ever been to INCLUDING China Buffet, we always ask if they wouldn’t mind making a couple of sushi rolls with fried shrimp… just fried shrimp, rice and nori(the black seaweed). Very simple, quick to do. And the dozen or more buffets we’ve gone to, it’s always«sure, no problem». I usually say I’ll bring the fried shrimp over for them and they say«yes, thank you, thank you». I ask the guy behind the sushi station here and he says«ask manager». I go to the manager standing at the front desk and ask if they would please make a couple. His exact reply«NO! This buffet not special order!» in a very aggravated tone. Ok. no problem. It’s not a deal breaker for us at a buffet, it’s just what we like but it’s not the end of the world. I then ask if it’s possible to get some fresh peanut chicken as the couple of pieces there are very tough. He says«We don’t have any more! We change… not have any more!». You would have thought you were watching an oriental movie where the actors are over exaggerating and acting mad… but he was serious. So I went and got some boiled shrimp in the shell. It was very good. It was on plenty of ice and it was fresh and not mushy like a lot of cooked shrimp in the shell gets on a buffet. The cocktail sauce had a nice kick to it. That was probably the best thing on the buffet. So, if you want average, decent all you can eat Chinese food, then go here. You’ll get full and get your money’s worth. And if you go in knowing it’s average, you’ll be satisfied with it. I foolishly believed the other reviewers who probably go out to eat once a year and have no perspective on what good food is and expected something above average, so I was disappointed. Besides that, I’ll never go back due to the rude behavior of the waitress and manager.

One of the best buffet’s I’ve been to in Chattanooga. You can load your plate up with just about any food you can imagine. Chicken, Sushi, Beef, Hot Wings, Fries, Vegetables Friendly service and prompt weight staff. They move people through the restaurant like cattle. I think the restaurant could hold 100 plus people. Great Place!

Ate here with friends mid-afternoon/early evening after going out hiking… a good indicator of how good a buffet style place is their«off hours» and this was a good experience. Very few people in the place, maybe three other tables and ours with about 10 people and the food was good, fresh, and well stocked. Tried a bit of everything and all was good! Service was good too. Kept our drinks full and empty dishes cleared. Looking forward to returning here next time I get a chance too!
