On the expensive side but the food is good. The chicken Karahi with fresh naan. So good.

Love this place! My personal favorite is nehari, it’s absolutely the best! I love that it has a separate room for salah, very convenient.

I’ve been to many Indo/Paki restaurants and the food here is by far the best in southern California. I highly recommend the Seekh Kabob, Chicken Tikka, and the Naan is a must. The only problem I have here is getting full before I want to stop eating! The owner/chef Abdul, is very personable and actually quite funny once you get to know him.

Alright, time for a real review. This place is NOT supposed to be somewhere where you take your fiancée to propose or where you want to be classy. It’s a quiet chill place you go when you’re craving some of the best pakistani food in the western hemisphere. The owner, Abdul, is an AMAZING man who can be scatterbrained at times, but there is a method behind his madness. Also, if you have time, ask him to tell you his story, it is super interesting and a true example of the American Dream. Now for the most important part, the FOOD. The food is amazing. Simply put, it is amazing. Although I must warn you, if spicy is not your strong suit, ask them to go easy on it haha. I LOVE the naan and my favorite dishes are the Seekh Kabob(the best), Chicken Tikka(omg), and the Karayi Gosht(praise the lord). You WILL not be disappointed, I promise. This place used to be really dingy on the inside, but they have been doing a lot of work on it and Abdul is really stepping up his game. I wholeheartedly recommend this business. 5STARS!!!

I disagree with Ron M. I also believe that he is discriminating and fabricating his statement because the kitchen isn’t even viewable or in site. The owner there along with the workers have always shown me proper respect in their customer service and always bring my food in a decent amount of time(taking what type of food I’m ordering into consideration since it’s not your average burgers, hot dogs, or fries). The restaurant smells like good Indian/Paki food which is what it’s suppose to smell like… I eat there frequently as I did last night. If you are a person who likes Indian/Pakistani food, then I suggest everything is good depending on your taste. The owner is a very good person and will give you a recommendation on what to order according to your taste and standards. If you are a person who only likes certain things then I recommend the kabob or the kabob rolls. Seekh Kabob, Reshmi Kabob, or Chicken Tikka with some naan. You can consider those items as their BBQ or «Steak» of their region. They taste really good and are a good source of protein. Kabob rolls are also a good on the go meal and their known for them.

Pros: — It’s not busy(I wonder why) Cons: — Be prepared to wait over 1.5 hours for your food — «Restaurant» smells like shit — I caught the workers that cook the food don’t wash their hands — The owner, Abdul, is extremely rude and he teaches his illegal workers to be the same — DONOTDRINKTHEWATER it will make you sick — Chicken was undercooked and the beef was too dry — Eating utensils were filthy, seems like he rinses them under water Note: The place has a «B» rating for a reason. I sincerely urge you to stay away from Tawakal.

I’m always satisfied with the food from this place. It is very good. Always get a Kari, dal, kati kut and some bread. The service is always good when Abdul is there otherwise its a hit and miss. I’m giving this place 5 stars because every once in a while I have to have it. :D

I called this place for half hour and no one answered phone. service stuck. no owner is inthe business. so called busy and order chicken barajani was so dry. I think the owners should be on sites to see what the employees are doing. this place was known the best. I really now the owner’s family member. I want to rate them 2star… I wish I could say good words about this place. When I went in they had only 2 customer’s. I just wish they have good service to customers. I have been to this place twice and I do no like the service. the Naan are yellow in color. they had the best Naan at one time. Owners should pay more attention to want employees are doing at the business.

The Food: Excellent, the best Indian/Pakistanian food I’ve ever had(except for my husband’s friend homemade food of coarse) The Waiting time: You can take a couple of naps before you get your food… it can be horrible!!! The workers: Just trying to do their job not too nice but not mean either. Tip: PHONEORDER even if you are eating there it will make your visit much enjoyable and you will enjoy your food better without being aggregated by the loooooong wait. I’m giving 5starts because the food is irreplaceable

This is a place for serious Pakistani food. Even though the ambiance isn’t that great, the food is really good. Make sure the place still has an A because sometimes the floors seems a little dirty and there seems to be only one busser. If you want authentic, delicious food, I would definitely recommend this place. The lamb, biryani, tandoori chicken are all very very good. My family and I are regulars. Great for pick up orders.

Finally a legit Pakistani place that hits the spot. Especially if you’re used to Shalimar in SF. This is a great family run place and they’ve figured out the details with their chutney, chai, and whatever else they may have off menu. Totally worth the half hour trek from Pasadena. Don’t forget to grab a Kulfi on the way out.

The biriyani here is probably the closest to Zam Zam Market, which in my opinion, is still the best biriyani in the LA. It’s unfortunate they shut down so I need to find a substitute for it. Tried different ones in the valley and nothing comes close until I found Tawakal. The flavor, portion are really close and their curry chicken is delicious. If you’re craving for Indian/Pakistani food this is the place to go.

5 Stars for Takeout. OMG, WOW. This food is amaaaazing. Ive had Biryani before at other places such as Rocky’s Tandoori but this Lamb Biryani is the best ive ever had, NODOUBT about it. The lamb is perfect, its like butter when you cut into it. The rice is full flavored with herbs and spices. And the portions are Enormous! alot of food for $ 13. The restaurant is very family oriented. It is clean, well kept.(they could use a few pictures on the wall :) plenty of tables for a family meal or a group of people. The owner is a really nice guy. I am shocked that all the years ive lived in Chatsworth I never knew about Tawakal. I will be back OFTEN. Update — 4 hours later — It was so good I went back for dinner. I ordered the«Beef Roll» its like a large burrito with a variety of herbs and spices and. It’s delicious!

I generally write a review after my 3rd visit to the place, been here 4 times now and been blown away by the consistent good authentic Indian /Pakistani Cuisine . The Tandoori chicken is very well marinated and well baked, The Karahi chichicken can get a little spicy but its too good to pass . Loved the garlic Naans and the kulfi to finish off with.
