Fun Guy Inspection and Consulting

Simply put, Robert and Fun Guy are the best. Not just as an inspection company, but as a customer service and scientific consulting company that have the best customer service, bar none. I’m a mechanical engineer and my wife is a research molecular biologist, so we’d typically be pretty informed customers in this segment. We asked tons of questions and Robert had straight-​up, plain english answers that showed that he knew what he was talking about.
We were considering a possibly dodgy former toxic mold house, and Robert spent the time required to give phone consultations and review sellers mold testing reports so that we felt comfortable with what he was telling us. In the end, we ended escrow and walked away after the seller/seller’s realtor cancelled a mold inspection with 35 minutes notice (yes, you read correctly — 35 minutes). Robert was kind enough to cancel our appointment and not charge a cancellation fee.
Without hesitation, I would recommend Robert and Fun Guy (love the name) for any mold question.

My wife and I moved into our new home when we found that we had baseboards that were very soft to the touch and bathroom doorframes with swollen bases. We started to get paranoid thinking that these are signs of undisclosed water damage. We started investigating further then hings got real when my wife found a black sport behind the master bath toilet. Is this mold in our new home? How large is this problem? The soft baseboard were in all different parts of our home so we thought this could be a HUGE problem… we needed professional advice.
After contacting various flood and mold remediation companies, CBC restoration, suggested I get in touch with Robert at FunGuy to perform an inspection to learn what we’re really dealing with.
I made an appointment with Robert to come the next day for inspection and air quality test. He arrived on time, I restated our concerns and led him to show him the problem areas. When we got to the swollen doorframe base he asked if the previous owner had a small dog. They had three… This is where he stated that the damage is due to the dogs repeatedly relieving themselves in their favorite doorframe or baseboard. He also looked at the black spot and checked the moisture level in the drywalls under the baseboard and concluded it is very minor. He continued with thorough inspection of the home and concluded the house did not experience any major water damage. What a relief! Very gross about the dogs but what a relief! … and yes we are getting new floors and trim!
Moreover, Robert suggested we didn’t need an air quality test saving us money. He called a week after the inspection making sure we are doing well and didnt have any questions which was very nice.

This is actually the 2^nd time we have had Robert to our house, we were so impressed with him the first time we called him back again, and we were not disappointed. First off, he was able to rush and fit us in his busy schedule, on a Saturday nonetheless. A true work and business professional.
Robert was able to quickly and accurately assess and document the damage, the entire time explaining every step of the process on what he was doing, why he was doing it, what he saw, and what the corrective course of action was. He answered every question throughly and thoughtfully, and really cares and listens to what you’re saying.
In spite of the situation, I’m not sure you could ask for a visit like this to go any better. Although we only call Robert if we have a problem, yet it’s always a pleasurable visit.

Robert just left my house and boy am I impressed. Here I am a young 20 something and just bought my first home 2 months ago. Well, needless to say my husband and I have had A LOT of «surprises» with this home and not good ones. Something that has been weighing heavily on me is that I have had a tube that comes from my washer to a pipe to drain water. Well, lucky us the water keeps backing up and spilling onto our floor. We have had two plumbers out (with the third coming today) and the problem still is not fixed. Well with all this water leaking all over I of course was scared there would be mold and mildew.
I have searched for weeks for a mold inspector on Unilocal but couldn’t find anyone. Then today Fun Guy popped up. Robert was awesome. I had some water damage in my ground floor condo from a broken pipe on the 3^rd floor in a common wall– and an HOA that was dragging their feet and denying responsibility — I knew I had mold growing — I could smell that musty smell.
I called Robert after reading the reviews here– I figured I’ll just get someone out here ASAP and deal with the HOA later.

Funguy Inspection came to my house and found mold, lots of it.
After a pipe broke and lots of water damaged my home, my insurance company sent out a mold inspection company. Their specialists made sure they did not find any mold. But, I was getting sicker by the day. Even contracted the very disturbing and itchy ringworm fungus, lots of breathing problems, big headaches and body aches, and more. I could not understand why this was happening when the insurance company’s mold specialist found nothing and gave me a written report that my home was mold free. So, I found Funguy Inspection on the Internet. What I found was the most competent and knowledgeable person about mold, who looked for mold, and found lots of it. He identified the mold. The mold was removed, and now my health is being restored. He answered all my questions, and there were many. He worked with me in detail. I recommend Funguy to anyone who has been through an insurance claim. Don’t believe your insurance company. And, whether you have an insurance claim or if you think your house is making you sick, spend the money and bring in Funguy, and see what he finds. It was worth every cent for me, as my good health is very important to me.

If you’re ever so unfortunate to require a mold inspection in your home, this company is the real deal! I found them on the internet after browsing and speaking with over 8 different mold inspection companies. The guy who helped me is Robert and he is an ANGEL!!! The whole process of evaluating mold, and if there is, remediation of the mold, and then finally the repair of the demo can be REALLY STRESSFUL. Robert is seriously an expert and answered all of my questions. He really went above and beyond when, even after the results came out, he was still willing to talk to me about the remediation process, many many other questions I had, recommendations to remediation companies, explaining in detail the verbiage of the mold report, and recommendations on some other things I’ve heard from mold remediation companies.
What I was most impressed with is that he was helping me with keeping costs down. For places he knew there wouldn’t be mold, he just told me. He could have charged me more by sampling as much as he could but he didn’t .
