Specialties
We celebrate every season! With colorful pots and plants in the Spring, local produce and berry picking in the Summer. Our biggest season is Fall — with apples, fresh cider, pumpkins, gourds, and lovely mums. At Christmas we make homemade candies and sell Christmas décor — trees, wreaths and roping.
We offer potting your plants for you in the early spring, landscaping your garden, tours for young schoolchildren in the fall, trimming, netting, and delivering your Christmas trees, and storing your pots in our greenhouse for the winter.
In our store we have many local products in addition to local fruits and vegetables. We carry a wide variety of Amish made jams and jellies, salsas and relishes. Kathy’s Kitchen products and PB2. We have local honey and local organic ground beef. Local preservative free pasta and sauces.
Our bakery is locally famous and is available 7 days a week. We make our own fudge and have many varieties.
History
Established in 1993.
Dwight Morrison was a scientist teacher who started an apple orchard in the 1960’s. He had a small stand and cider press for years before the Johnson’s bought the business. Dwight still plays a significant role at the Apple Barn. Over the years, they have worked hard to expand it to the lovely destination spot it is today.
