It’s a Starbucks so everything you would except from them for quality & options. This one though isn’t as friendly as other ones I have encountered. Not sure why, perhaps it’s because this mall is just gross and the clientele have burn’t out the baristas. But either way I still expect a friendly hi and not have to stand there for 30 secs before someone acknowledges me and takes my order. I also told them about a spill of something on the floor near their tables that I almost fell on, hoping they would have it cleaned up so no one else would fall but they seemed very uninterested and apathetic to the matter. They had soy milk obviously and so I still was able to get my vegan latte and get the hell out of that mall!

This is the Starbucks in the Fashion Square Mall. It is really difficult to write this review because I have seriously have had such hot and cold experiences here. For the first few visits that I made — service was awesome! The baristas were friendly and fast and I generally felt great about plopping down the big bucks for my tall lattes. I admired the efficiency for what I believe to be a difficult location to work in(it’s kind of like an airport kiosk set-up.) This is a major contrast to the experience I had on Saturday afternoon! There were more baristas working(about four, I want to say — compared to the usual two) but there was also a huge cluster of patrons waiting for their drinks at the ‘pick up’ end. I was there to order my drink and was excited to also claim my ‘free petite treat’ as part of the 40th anniversary promotion. However, as I ordered my ‘custom handcrafted beverage’ I was not offered it. I looked around quickly and saw no mention on their chalkboards, but brushed it off, thinking that maybe not all locations were participating. I took it in stride, as I was going to enjoy my delicious tall iced toffee nut latte nonetheless. However, after waiting more than five minutes for my drink(seriously, there was no line behind me, but just a pileup of people waiting!) I was getting a little annoyed. So I walked back up to the register and asked if they were participating in the promo. The exchange: ME: Hi, I was curious if you were doing the free petite treats today? Barista: Yeah, we are. ME: Well, I ordered a drink… Barista: Yeah, well, you didn’t say you wanted one. ME: Uh, okay, well I just wasn’t sure ‘cos there wasn’t a sign. Barista: Well, which one do you want, then? Yeah, so not consistent with the usual great service I receive at SBUX! Anywho, I got my treat(rocky road cake pop!) I still waited another few minutes before my drink order was called. In that time, another girl behind me ordered a frappucino and I told her to go claim her free treat. Good karma for the day ;)
