Set up an appointment to get here at 7:00AM for an oil change only to be told there was a truck ahead of me getting new tires and they couldn’t get me in for another hour. Why make an appointment?

Second time I gave them a chance. First time they totally lied to my wife about the work they accually did. Second time I took it in, wanted to give them a second chance. Well I should have listened to my wife. A very long story short, they damaged my rotor, leaving hammer marks in my rotor face, where it contacts the pads. Was missing a lug nut due to damaged threads, didn’t retap to fix because it was close to 4. Took me about 25 min to pick my vehicle up, could have easily done this, took me three min at home to do. Came back and let them know about damage. They blew me off and did not care even a little bit. Stay away from these people. This is the stuff of nightmares.

Was told it would take «a few hours» to complete a state inspection and I told them I needed the car in 3 hours. Three hours later they had not even started. I understand being busy, but when you have 3 hours to complete a 15 minute task, you should be able to prioritize. I will take my service elsewhere even though it is conveniently within walking distance of my house.

Great facilities and very professional staff but be weary of their laundry lists of «needs attention». They will find anything that isn’t in perfect order and tell you it needs to be replaced. The last time I was there I received an estimate that was $ 1000 over what another mechanic quoted for the exact same service. Be careful because they are smooth talkers!

University Tire is known for having the best prices in Charlottesville. I’ve been to this location twice. The first time, I felt a bit misled on the price of my service/​sale, but I might’ve been too harsh. I decided to go back on the recommendation of a friend. I got everything I needed with no hassle and at a great price. They even had a shuttle drop me off at work and pick me up when my car was ready.

I’d give them a zero star if I could. I will never patronize this business again.
They serviced my SUV with an incredibly expensive synthetic oil change, then told me I needed a power steering fluid exchange, for $ 150, which it turns out another mechanic told me I did not need (that would be Airport Road Auto Center).
I don’t know how places like this earn Best Of ratings, but in this case, ignore them. Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle to Airport Road Auto Center. You’ll be glad you did!
