Great little hole in the wall place! Friendly staff, delicious soup! Can’t speak for any of the other food, but I’d definitely eat there again.

This is a hidden gem for a good sandwich that costs less than most places in C-ville. I got the turkey club and it was excellent. It was so big it filled a big Styrofoam take-out container. The women running the counter were a bit coarse but they had a well-running operation. It looks like a hole in the wall so I never would have gone there if it wasn’t recommended to me. I am glad it was.

Tried this place for lunch. I liked the interior, but my only complaint was that the server behind the register didn’t seem to want to deal with anyone. She seemed like she hated her job Outside of that, I had the steak and cheese based on her recommendation, and I heard they had good fries, so I tried those as well. The french fries were good, even an hr after I ordered them due to an unforseen issue with my car. The sandwich was delicious and probably one of the best steak & cheeses I’ve had in town.

Excellent hamburgers, can’t go without getting the French fries! Only negative, the seating tables are tight!

Great comfort food! They have a loyal customer base, which is always a good sign. I go every Monday and see the same people there each week. Sandwiches and salads are good. Potato bacon soup is awesome! They also have the best carrot cake I’ve ever had!

Easy to find. Excellent food. I got the turkey sub and a small fry with a sweet tea. Lettuce could definitely be more fresh, but they do put a decent amount of meat so one outweighs the other. The only complaint I have is its not the most welcoming atmosphere. Seats aren’t comfy and the lighting is all wrong. Not inviting at all. As I type this it sounds ridiculous, but it was the difference between me staying in the building to eat my meal or me taking it elsewhere. For a take out place — I highly recommend! :)

I have recently been to Philly and I cannot wait until Monday(Tubby’s isn’t open on the weekend and that’s ok because those hard workers deserve the weekend off) to let Tubby’s remind me of what a good Philly cheese steak sandwich is. I ate at Pat Kings and Genos in Philly and hands down, Tubby’s is the better quality, flavor and service. Glad to be home.

Tubby’s is a solid lunch spot in Charlottesville if you’re going for subs, wraps or burgers. Their fries are addictive(skinny w/seasoned salt). Their chicken fingers and baked spaghetti are actually pretty good, too. Probably the only thing I don’t like from their very extensive menu is their salads, which are made with iceberg lettuce. Hate iceberg lettuce. They have a devoted customer base, and their service is fast and friendly. They also cater. This isn’t the kind of food I like to admit I eat from time to time, but it’s good.

Tubby’s is the ultimate comfort food. Though it’s a greasy spoon and a terrible place for your diet, the burgers and fries always seem to hit the spot. It’s cheap, good food and quick. My typical meal doesn’t run me more than $ 7, and leaves me nice and full.

Tubbys is my favorite place to go in all of Charlottesville. I’ve been going there ever since it opened(which is probably 20 years ago). Great subs and great fries. Pretty good burgers. The bacon/ham/cheddar sub is my favorite. They have a cocktail style Ms. Pacman. That’s awesome. My only complaint is that they serve Hunts ketchup instead of Heinz. Ugh. No respectable place should ever serve anything but Heinz. Things to know: 1. It gets super busy at lunch time. If you get there between 12 and 1 be prepared to wait, and to maybe not find a parking spot. 2. Monday night is buy one sub get one half off. That’s a good deal. 3. If you don’t like seasoning salt, be sure to request that they leave it off your fries. They put a lot on. And it’s awesome. But it’s not for everyone. Their prices have gone up a little over the years, but still reasonable, and about the only place I look forward to eating at when I visit Charlottesville. Very family friendly. No smoking. No alcohol.
