We offer very personal cooking and recipe advice as well as restaurant suggestions and Charlottesville information. The only way you will find fresher spices with no pesticides or MSG which are Kosher and Hallel are to grow them yourself.

History

Established in 2011.

When my husband and I decided to move to Charlottesville, I decided that I wanted to follow my desire to start a business related to food. We were moving to the Locavore Capitol of the World and I wanted to be a part of that food scene. We visited a spice store in Napa, CA, not once, but twice. At that point, it was clear to me that I wanted to have a spice shop. Once we were settled after the move and we had the perfect location at Main Street Market at 4^th and W Main, The Spice Diva was ready to Make Life Delicious.

Business Owner

Phyllis has been the Spice Diva since 2011. She has had an international opera career, taught singing for 25 years, sold Jaguars, Porsches and Audi’s, been married to attorney William Harville since 1984 and raised three sons — Jeremy, Sam and Lucas Harville — not at all in that order. She loves her dogs, reading, cooking and eating local food, yoga and Charlottesville.
