We specialize in traditional handmade Australian Pies, wrapped in flaky puff pastry. We offer the traditional Australian classics, as well as our own creations that offer a taste for everyone.

We offer a full range of seasonal hors d’oeuvres, mini pies, appetizers, sides, and desert pies, with regular size pies as the entrée.

We use all local ingredients including local organic grass fed beef, local organic free range (pasture raised) chickens and eggs, local antibiotic free pork, and local produce

History

Established in 2013.

The owner, Justin Bagley a Charlottesville native, discovered Australian pies during his travels overseas. At the same time, he also met his Aussie wife Claire, resulting in his decision to move to Australia. The two lived there for awhile, and as most Aussies do, ate pies on the regular.

They eventually decided they wanted to bring a taste of Australia back to Charlottesville when they ultimately moved back to Justin’s hometown. Justin went to work in a local pie shop in Sydney to learn the trade, while Claire became his bonifide pie taster! Eventually the two made their way back stateside, and Justin opened up his small food cart named The Pie Guy on the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville.

Now The Pie Guy has turned into an extremely popular catering, special event and wholesale company, being able to bring gourmet pies to your wedding, festival, or special event.
