We are a non-​profit organization dedicated to bringing all things swing to Charlottesville! We love to dance and we love teaching others what we know!

We specialize in Lindy Hop, East Coast Swing, Charleston, Balboa, and Blues. We offer Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced lessons every Wednesday night at «Cats Corner», plus monthly dances and other events.

SwingCville is also available for hire! Book us for your concert, party, or fundraiser. We can provide beginner dance lessons, performances, and DJ’s to get everyone dancing!

History

Established in 2009.

In 2009, a small group of Lindy Hop enthusiasts got together and started brainstorming about how to build a swing dance scene in Charlottesville. That year, SwingCville was formed and we started offering classes on a variety of vintage dances; from Lindy Hop to Balboa to Charleston. As we’ve grown, we have strived to stick to our original ideals: make swing dance accessible to anybody, teach strong fundamentals, and have a whole lotta fun!
