Milli’s does a nice job roasting their coffee and it comes through in the cup. The coffee’s unique flavor notes came through in the pour overs and tastes great.

Horrible service!!! The Staff can be rude and majority of the time they do not deserve a tip. I’ve been a regular and still feel my service hasn’t improved over the years. The biggest tip I could give people who try their coffee is do not order a non dairy latte because they don’t even try to prepare it like a normal latte. I recently had a almond latte there and it literally was the worst drink I’ve had in my life. This is super disappointing because it doesn’t cater to those who are vegan or lactose intolerant. Besides my complaints, I will say they have some of the best espressos I’ve had in Charlottesville. If they had better service and cared about their customers I would continue to go but now I think I will find another coffee shop to frequent.

Visiting my brother in town and needed a place to work for a few hours. Found this place on Unilocal and it was great, plenty of seating, fast wifi, and good light. I ordered a cappuccino and a strawberry waffle… and then realized I forgot my wallet. S***. The lovely barista assured me that I could come back and pay later in the day, saving me a walk back and forth. Maybe it’s a small town thing but the gesture really made my day. As did the strawberry waffle :)

Excellent coffee, unfriendly staff, dodgy customer service. Top notch espresso drinks though, probably the best in Charlottesville.

Thanks for giving us a place to hang with our little one in between meals! We had an Americano and a Latte. Delish. The Americano was very smooth and the latte was beautiful. I enjoyed the atmosphere and could see myself in there frequently in my former years… You know when I was cool… And didn’t have a baby.

Whereas Para/Grit Coffee on Elliewood may be my most frequent stop as far as cafes in Cville go, Milli Joe is my preference for *truly great* coffee. If I want to impress a coffee lover or sit for an hour over a perfectly prepared cup, this is the place. Their pour over coffee preparation is absurdly good. For a breakfast splurge, they serve fresh waffles. Both the strawberry/banana and the honey/brie varieties are awesome. The only downside of this place is its somewhat awkward location, where it is not easy to walk to from the Corner or from downtown, and thus easy to forget about.

Mille Joes is underrated by locals… I think it’s over looked because of places like Mudhouse but it’s the best coffee in CVille! Limited menu but you won’t be disappointed!

Great Coffee, nice service. Was up from RVA and it was a nice place to stop in for a coffee before hitting the road.

Decent coffee and food, but god awful service. I ordered food and after a half an hour, I finally checked on the status after the baristas were socializing with their friends. Unsurprisingly, they had completely forgotten about my food, and didn’t bother apologizing or refunding me after realizing their mistake.

I have been to just about every coffee shop in town(and there are many). Milli Joe is my favorite, by far. Their mochas are always excellent and served with a cool, artistic design. Their waffles are highly recommended! Probably the best I have ever had. The seating is spacious and open(though crowded during school year). Their baristas are friendly and beginning to actually try and remember customer names, which is refreshing. Parking can be problematic as it is a popular place so be prepared to park on the road behind the shop. Otherwise, it is the best coffee shop in town and highly recommend it for business meetings(I have had many meetings there.). It’s also just a wonderful place for fun, too.

Just visiting Charlottesville for the day and my first order of business is always scoping out where I’m to get my coffee. Found Milli Joe’s with Unilocal and was very happy I did. The blend was multilayered with a complex flavor set. Hints of blueberry were the most abundant. I was a bit sorry didn’t try the fresh waffles but wasn’t hungry enough at the time. The artisanal cheese counter was similarly alluring, just not at 7 am. Hope to return again.

I’ve probably reviewed most of the coffeehouses in town and I think Millie Joe has become my favorite. When they opened, I wasn’t sure their location would work, but I also didn’t realize that there is convenient parking right next to the building. The espresso and lattes are perfect and the food is awesome. Portion sizes are great. The vibe of the place is great for getting some work done or meeting a friend. It’s just a great all-around shop. Flora is an interesting addition.

Coffee selection and quality is excellent. Do yourself a favor and order the special waffle. Or the plain waffle for that matter. The waffles are really good, and I only came here for the coffee.

Came here on a friend’s recommendation for the house special brie/honey/apple waffle, and it did not disappoint. The waffle texture was perfect, and the portion was just the right size. Can’t go wrong that combination of toppings either. Takes a bit of time to make. Staff is really nice. Was here around 1 in the afternoon on a Wednesday, and it was pleasant and lively — a really nice reprieve from a busy day. I also ordered a chai latte, which was quite good, but also more expensive than my waffle. That surprised me but I guess the waffle is at least quite reasonably priced.

Absolutely magnificent espresso. Rich, complex, fragrant, and sharp with a mellow aftertaste. Become a regular. I know I would if I were local.

This is my go to coffee shop in the area! They have the best vanilla latte I’ve ever had! Their waffles are also amazing; you can’t go wrong with any of them. The staff has always been very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. If you have any kind of question about their menu or kinds of coffee, just ask! Also, it’s fun to get a cheese plate from Flora. The cheesemonger is always so nice and I’ve always liked the different kinds of cheese.

Outstanding coffees served by friendly, knowledgeable staff. –I mean, this coffee is very, very good; and they can explain what percentage of it is from Ethiopia or Ecuador and why it tastes the way it does, etc., etc. Without ever seeming anything other than cheerful. A note about the waffles: they’re made to order and cooked to crisp-outside-fluffy-inside perfection, and kudos for the imaginative, delicious flavor combinations, but they are served very sweet. If you get the kind with jam, there will be a lot of jam, and if you get the kind with honey, there will be a lot of honey. Particularly if you like your breakfast very sweet, it’s not an issue – just something to be aware of.

I rarely find stores that inspire me to write a review, but I was so amazed by the quality of coffee, and service here that I want to give credit. Hand down, the best tasting, most artfully crafted macchiato I’ve enjoyed in years. The enviable cheese selection also deserves special mention. I love this place, and if I lived in Cville, I’d have my macchiato here every day.

This is my FAVORITE coffee shop in Charlottesville; which is saying something for a town seemingly filled to the brim with java spots. Being a barista myself, I am consistently impressed with how knowledgable the baristas are & how fantastic everything tastes.(If you’re enjoying your drink in-house, expect a cute design in your latte foam). I especially appreciate the homemade syrups & sauces, & eclectic waffles choices. My go-to drink is the honey/blood orange latte(surprisingly delicious) & food item is the Brie/Granny Smith/honey waffle– crispy, savory, & amazing! They’ve also added a cheese counter, which provides samples & has an honest-to-goodness cheese expert working the counter, & a chocolate bar, with truffles shipped from Belgium weekly. Needless to say, I try my hardest to make a stop here every time I’m in Charlottesville. I wish it were a little closer to home…

One sentence version: Coffee, cheese, chocolate, gelato, and room to relax. There were several kids and parents inside playing chess sitting on one of the couches. There is also free WiFi as all coffee shops should have… Coffee: drip, pour over, siphon(vacuum), and lots of different beans to choose from. Didn’t try the Neuhas chocolates, gelato, or cheeses.
