Seriously great community theater. If you are in Charlottesville when they have a show playing don’t hesitate to go check it out. I really like the smaller theater there. The shows in it are often more obscure and well worth the time. Also they serve beer and wine. :)

If you are a Cvillian or just a visitor and there is a current production… GO! You will not be disappointed. I am constantly amazed at the quality of the productions of this all volunteer theatre. Interesting plays, sometimes risqué, so not always kid appropriate. The musicals are always a delight! Well located within the downtown Mall area for dining and parking across the street.

I just saw A Chorus Line at Live Arts. The venue is incredibly intimate — just small enough to feel like you’re almost part of the performance and just big enough that there’s great energy from the crowd. This is my new favorite place in Charlottesville.
