Our seasonal menus are locally sourced as much as possible and are uniquely designed to be wine friendly. Our menus showcase the passion behind this gastronomic endeavor. Every wine is hand selected by David and Andrew Lundquist, our newest manager and certified sommelier and every menu item is hand selected by Chef Nicolas Daniels. Each dish is made fresh to order, using the highest quality, in-season, local ingredients available. Together, David, Andrew and Chef Nicolas have created a true wine and culinary experience.
Inside, you will find that our furniture is all hand-hewn, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The combination of the cozy atmosphere, our award winning wine list and our highly rated cuisine, provides Uptown Charlotte with a one-of-a-kind atmosphere and a true wine and gastronomic experience. Experience our unique concept where the food is paired with the wines. Your food will be prepared fresh, just for you and your wine choice will be prepared for you based on what you like by our in house sommelier. We also offer hand-crafted cocktails and have a nice selection of bottled beers for those who enjoy other types of beverages as well.

History
Established in 2011.
The Wooden Vine was opened in February, 2011 by Certified Level II Sommelier David Soper, along with his family. David spent his childhood in his family’s vineyards helping with their small production winery in New Market Virginia. His parents, Ted & Karen also owned a small wine and cheese shop in downtown New Market. The vineyards and the wine shop fostered a «world of grapes and wine» which ultimately gave birth to a passion. Fast forward several years, David moved to Charlotte to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts and Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales. After graduating, David spent a term studying wine in Europe. He then returned to become a Level II Certified Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers.
Being passionate about wine and food, David convinced his family to help with the purchase of the restaurant when he noticed this space became available. David had a vision of creating a restaurant in uptown that would focus on providing patrons with a unique and unfor
