History

Established in 1988.

Dr. Richard Van Gurp is a family dentist in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our dentist office is located in the Belle Grove Office Park, directly across from the Arboretum. We are a convenient local dentist for patients throughout Charlotte including SouthPark, Ballantyne, Blakeney, Matthews and Pineville.

Dr. Van Gurp is a graduate of The University of North Carolina Dental School in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. A Dean’s List student while attending Dental School, Dr. Van Gurp was awarded membership into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Fraternity one of the highest awards given in dentistry.

He opened his private practice in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1988 after completing his General Practice Residency in Hospital Dentistry at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT.

As a youngster, I swam competitively and ran endurance events including marathons. By adding cycling to the mix, triathlons just made sense. It’s a real commitment to train for three sports, but I enjoy it immensely.
