History

Established in 2011.

Dr. Nancy Acampado and Dr. Grace Savage opened Tranquil Family Dentistry in July 2011. The modern, state-​of-​the art 3500 square foot facility is equipped with the latest dental technology.

Acampado and Savage have extensive experience in all aspects of dentistry and provide patients a convenient, comfortable environment where they will receive comprehensive dental care. They are both former officers in the United States Air Force, with a combination of more than 26 years of private practice experience.

Dr. Acampado, Dr. Savage and their friendly staff are dedicated to providing you and your entire family with comfortable dental care in a friendly, relaxing and tranquil environment.

In addition, we are a GREEN Office: Our office takes extensive steps and meticulous monitoring to ensure proper sterilization of all our instruments and equipment, infection control, while using products that protect our patients and the environment.

I cannot say enough awesome things about this office! I have had to see many dentists throughout the past 8 – 10 years and I FINALLY feel completely confident in this one. First and foremost, Dr. Savage is so great and knowledgable. It was the most pain-​free treatment I’ve ever had– I didn’t even know she was numbing me until it was over! They also watched (shoutout to Ambrosia!) my two children (ages 1 and 3) for TWO HOURS in their special «nanny room» while I got my procedure done and my 3yo didn’t stop talking about how much fun she had at the dentist all day. What an amazing service to provide. Dr. Savage said, «we moms have to help each other out!» They also called to check on me the next day– very thoughtful and thorough. Aesthetically, I am also really pleased with the work done. I highly highly highly recommend this office– from start to finish, appointment booking all the way through. Thank you, team Tranquil!

I love that the reviews for Tranquil are all either five star or one star and all the one stars are based on appointment making. It genuinely stinks for the people leaving one star reviews who are having difficulty making an appointment their first time but as an existing customer, I am so impressed!
It’s really difficult to find a dentist who is extremely intelligent and pragmatic about your health. Dr Savage is very skilled, honest, clear and descriptive about all procedures and expected outcomes, punctual and (it seem from a outside perspective) she expects the same from her staff.
Tranquil was outside my insurance preferred network for a couple years but I went there anyway because it’s sooo hard to find this level of good. If you value understanding your treatment and having an objective dentist (and can manage to get an appointment) look no further. This is as good as it gets.

Dr. Savage and her team are amazing! I’m the type who hates getting cavities filled or anything else dental related. Her office made me feel very comfortable and did an amazing job! No pain :) I would highly recommend this office if you’re looking for a new dentist.

This a relaxing environment for a dentist’s office. My dentist, Dr. Acampado is a great dentist. She is friendly and thorough. She takes time to make sure that all my needs are met. A good dentist is like air, you really don’t realize how great it is until you don’t have it. It’s an overused analogy, but it’s just soooo good.
The office is comfortably appointed, modern and sleek. I went to a very antiquated dentist office once. It’s not re-​assuring, unless you are Grandpa Simpson.
The dental chairs here have back rollers in them, which for me is almost reason enough to go. Everything about Tranquil Dentistry seems cutting edge which makes me think their practices are the most current in dentistry.
On a side note, I wasn’t referred here. I initially started going because I was able to book an appointment sooner than six months away.

I’m so upset that I have to change my review about this dentistry. My husband and I have been loyal customers for 3 years. Today I get a phone call saying I have an appointment at 1:30pm. I told the receptionist, who is the new one, that I have August 3 written down. She begins to tell me that it is today at 1 o’clock and that I’m going to have to pay $ 50 to cancel this appointment. Keep in mind I’ve received no reminder phone call for my appointment today. After arguing with this woman I got confirmation that I was not to pay $ 50.
This is not the only thing. My husband and I received a bill in the mail for $ 290. The letter enclosed in the bill said the company was switching systems and they noticed we owed money. I find this completely absurd because every single time my husband and I come into this facility I ask the receptionist if we owe anything. If we owe any type of money I am sure to pay it off the day I’m there in the office. I find this both odd and bad housekeeping skills. My husband and I will surely find another dentistry to fit our needs after today.

Today was my first visit and my husband’s 2nd. I felt the appointment making process was quick and easy.
The office is nicely updated. Everyone I worked with at the office was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this office to anyone new to the area or looking to change dentist!

I’ve been to Tranquil Family Dentistry three times for cleanings and had a great experience each time. The first time I called as a new patient, they were able to get me an appointment within two weeks which was great. I’ve never had to wait longer than five minutes in the waiting room, or in the chair. The office always seems relatively empty which is a nice change from previous dentists offices I’ve been to. Dr. Acampado is really nice, and Beth is a great hygenist. My teeth always feel fine when I leave, which is great, sometimes at previous dentists my teeth would hurt for the rest of the day after the cleaning because the hygenist was so rough, but not here. I definitely recommend them!

I unfortunately have had a similar experience to that described by Samantha R. Looking for a new dentist, I contacted them through their website and got a quick initial response. However, after replying that I would like some appointment options sometime in the near future, I have gotten no response. It has been a week. This is incredibly frustrating. How difficult can it be to simply respond with a few appointment options?
When trying to attract new business, I don’t understand how this can occur. From the other reviews, it looks like this is an otherwise good dental practice. I’m assuming they are growing too fast and can’t keep up, or their reception desk is understaffed. Either way, I will be looking elsewhere.

I was looking for a new dentist and saw they had good reviews but geez! I’ve called 4 times, not all in the same day mind you, and I haven’t even been able to get anyone on the phone! EEEEK… talk about bad service.

I bumped my review up to a 4 because my oral surgeon clarified that the x-​rays weren’t done poorly — I just needed a different kind of xray in order for him to have the correct information. He also reversed the $ 250 charge because that was a tiny error, it was meant to be credited back but never was.
I still wish the hygienist had been a little more cautious with her choice of words about me needing orthodontics, and I wish that I had been able to contact the office a bit more quickly — but overall I did want to bump this up to a 4 because the x-​ray situation was explained to me.

This review is based entirely on the appointment-​making process and interactions I had with Carolyn, as this group was so difficult to work with that I ended up having to find a different dentist.
I contacted them about making an appointment, and at first they responded very quickly. I was really impressed. They asked what days/​times would work, and I got back to them just as quickly. A MONTH later, I still hadn’t heard back. A simple «We don’t have anything right now, how about next month?» Would have sufficed, but I got absolutely nothing.
I e-​mailed them again, and got no answer. Finally I e-​mailed them a 3rd time with a simple (albeit a bit passive-aggressive…I was really annoyed) «Hello?» Within HOURS I got a response with a single open appointment option at the end of the month and with no explanation for why they ignored me. I would have taken the appointment had they apologized or even acknowledged that the process took longer than it should have, but there was neither.
I’m sure that they are great dentists, but it’s hard to think about that when they treat potential new customers so poorly.

Really great clean & modern dental office, the staff was amazing every step of the way! Dr. Savage was so thorough, explaining everything along the way and stopped often to make sure I was ok and not feeling any pain. I think my visit took extra long because I was so chatty, but I never felt rushed and the whole experience was extremely welcoming. Dr. Savage explained some treatment options, and I felt like a real person and not just a number. They even arranged for Kristin, the nanny, to watch my daughter while I had my teeth cleaned (in a chair that massaged and watching TV, Ahhh. More like a spa!) my daughter had so much fun with her new friend! It so easy to schedule an appointment, I called Monday afternoon and was seen first thing Wednesday morning. Carolyn, the front desk employee was so sweet every step of the way, between calls and emails and follow ups, she is so professional and kind. I have a feeling that i will have a long term relationship with Dr. Savage and staff for many years to come. Highly recommend this place!

Dr. Savage and her staff were absolutely wonderful! At each step, they always asked if I was in any pain and if I was OK. It really put me to ease. And you gotta love Dr. Savage… she’s super friendly and super funny :-)
Office is clean and trendy… who knew a dentist office could be so cool :-) Also having a chair give me a back massage with a personal TV with my choice of program… all one can do is relax while her teeth are being worked on!
I thought I would never say this, but I can’t wait to come back in 6 mons for my teeth cleaning!

I searched for a long time to replace my dentist I had for years that moved away. Somehow, my heart told me this was the place to go and my heart is always right. Everyone in the office takes time to get to know you. They work with your fear level. They are affordable. I can’t say enough about Dr. Nancy and her team.
I actually think at the ripe old age of 53, my fear of dentistry has finally «left the building» and it’s all because of Tranquil!

I’ve been a seeing Dr. Savage at Tranquil for almost a year now. Before her no other dentist cared to get to know my habits that might be causing cavities, grinding and even yellowing. She actually gave me specific advice for how to care for my teeth and I’ve seen great improvements.
Dr. Savage and the staff make you feel very comfortable the whole time. She is very good at easing any pain and wants to hear about any issues you may have. She’s dedicated to improving great customer care and making sure you are really taken care of. I’ve had to cancel appointments last minute and they are so easy going with rescheduling, reminding you of appointments and letting you know if there is anything available sooner.

I’ve been to Tranquil Dentistry two times for cleanings thus far and not only was it painless, but I really enjoyed my experiences! When you walk in the office feels more like a spa than a dental office. The front desk lady was friendly and called me by name. There hasn’t been a wait either time. The dental chairs massage you and you can watch tv the whole time. The technology in the office is also state of the art. What I was most impressed with though was Dr. Savage. She explained everything the was doing to me as she did it and why she was doing it. I told her that my old dentist office made me have fluoride each time and she explained that that wasn’t necessary. It would have been very easy for her to upcharge me since I was already used to having that service each time. It’s so nice to finally have a dentist that I can trust and know is taking great care of me.

My family had a few bad experiences with other local dentists so we are very glad to have found Tranquil. Everyone is very nice, the office is comfortable and the equipment seems to be state-​of-​the-​art. Let’s face it, it sucks to go to the dentist… but Tranquil makes it the best it could be.

I had an appointment and met with Dr Nancy and her assistant Aleen.
I had not been to the dentist in too long!
They treat you like family and not like a number !
Everything is state of the art but also comes with genuine care.
If you need a dentist then you need to see Tranquil; Period!

If you go anywhere else but Tranquil for your dentistry needs you really need to look for another type of doctor (neurologist perhaps). This place is awesome. Called to make an appointment the lady at the front desk was awesome. Super polite, helpful, just all around pleasant. They walk me back sit me down and ask what I would like to watch!!! There are TVs in every room! Ummmm yes please. While I’m deciding what to watch I feel something massaging me. That’s right. Massage chairs at the dentist office. Heck yes. Exam and cleaning took just about an hour. Probably the most thorough exam and cleaning I’ve ever had. They make a dentist visit enjoyable.
Oh and the kicker. The next day I received a hand written thank you note from them. Who does that nowadays?! AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME.
