The Ivey, Charlotte’s only Memory Wellness Day Center for nearly a decade, was created to improve the quality of life of adults living with memory loss (due to mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s, stroke, or other causes of dementia) and to provide much needed support to their families. Members come to The Ivey’s beautiful mountain lodge-inspired environment each day for socializing with friends, personal care services, health and safety oversight, chef-created meals, an array of on-site therapies and more, and then return to the comfort of their own homes with family members at night. The foundation of The Ivey’s unique model — early intervention, whole family support, and high engagement — allows family members to remain in their homes longer and improves their quality of life.
The Ivey’s customized, comprehensive memory wellness programs are built around the four cornerstones of Life Enrichment, Health and Wellness, Family Resources and a Nurturing Environment. A full array of convenient on-campus amenities are provided, including rehabilitation therapies and personal care services. Full-time, on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapists provide physician-prescribed therapies, education, exercise, and behavioral change programs for members and their families.
History
Established in 2007.
CEO and Founder, Lynn Ivey, built The Ivey in 2007 as a tribute to her mother who was living with Alzheimer’s disease, and her father who was her loving caregiver. Since then, The Ivey has earned a stellar reputation as a unique dementia care solution that provides the «best of both worlds» — a nurturing daytime haven where your loved one living with memory loss can experience a change of scenery and make new friends in a beautiful, safe and attentive environment, while also enjoying the familiarity, comfort and independence of returning to their home and family at night.
