History

Established in 1985.

Our founders, H.A. Thompson and Andy Thompson began the company in 1985 as a family run limousine company with three employees servicing the Charlotte area. Today, the company has grown to over 90 employees and has more than 50 vehicles. Rose is the leading ground transportation provider in the Carolinas and 2008 Operator of the Year and is recognized as a «Top 300 Small Businesses 2012» in the Southeast by Business Leader Magazine for the second year in a row.

In addition, Rose has developed a Nationwide affiliate network which allows us to offer service in every city around the country. H.A. and Andy are active today in maintaining the focus on providing quality transportation services to individuals, corporations, meeting and event planners, and groups.

Business Owner

H.A. Thompson is author, radio personality, motivational speaker, and head of one of the most successful chauffeured transportation services in the country, Rose Chauffeured Transportation, headquartered in Charlotte NC.

A native of New Jersey, H.A. graduated from St. Lawrence University and put his charismatic personality and love of people into building a successful radio career. In 1977, Television/​Radio Age rated H.A. the number one midday radio personality in America.

In 1985 he founded Rose Chauffeured Transportation and built it into a multi-​million dollar family enterprise. Today, the company is the leading corporate ground transportation service in the Carolinas, winner numerous awards and name one of the one of the top ten growing small businesses in North Carolina, and among the Top 100 Fleets in the US.

We took the coach bus to Harrahs in Cherokee, and it was a very uncomfortable ride. The driver kept turning the air conditioning on and off, and this made the temperature in the bus very unpleasant. There was a point where it became so hot, that it was borderline torturous. The seats were very close together, and the reclining mechanism was broken on mine, so it kept moving into a reclined position the entire trip making the people I was with behind me uncomfortable. The bathroom didn’t have a means to sanitize or wash your hands either. The driver was a nice man, but clearly made some passengers nervous weaving in and out of traffic, myself included. This was a very bad experience to say the least, and I will not be using this as a means for travel again.

I had a 3:45pm pick up from Lenoir NC for a flight out of Charlotte at 6:25pm. At 3:20pm I got a voicemail saying there was «an issue» and that the driver was in an accident. I called at 3:45pm and was told a driver would be to me in 30 minutes. When I became upset the dispatcher put me on hold for over 10 minutes. I hung up and called back and another dispatcher told me the driver had a flat tire but a car was on the way to me for a 4:30 pickup. When I asked to speak to the owner I was placed on hold for another 15 minutes then told a car would be to me at 4:45pm. Since there are no other taxi services in Lenoir I had no choice but to wait. Net net an actual driver didn’t pick me up until almost 5:10pm and I missed my flight. I was then told the original driver did not show up for work. My advice: take another Charlotte car service. There are many! The owner apologized and of course said he would credit me the fare after I insisted he did but almost 1 ½ hours late and consistent miscommunication is just unacceptable.

I am currently in back of LIC # ZD 3989 and he’s driving like an asshole. No turn signals weaving in and out of traffic, not once check blind spots… probably not the best example to set for your company.

We took a middle school class to Washington, DC on Rose. The busses are clean and well maintained. Our driver, Everette Stewart, was fantastic. He was funny and friendly. He was very knowledgeable about DC and very accommodating to our group. An absolute pleasure to work with.

I’ve had only one experience with Rose for a basic «to and from» event, if you will.
The service, in it’s entirety, was spot on. They arrived on time (or a little beforehand even). We had two different drivers, both of which were very friendly, courteous and easy to talk to. They were very professional and had the attire to match. You won’t be disappointed in their presentation.
I can’t speak on their rates because our service was provided at no charge.
I would definitely use these guys again.

Rose Transportation made our clients getting to the airport from our office as painless and professional as possible. I was able to get a quote online, without talking to a person, which made me very happy, and then was able to quickly book the town car once flights were confirmed.
The day of the pickup, the driver arrived early and let our receptionist know he was there. He waited patiently in his car while the meeting ran late and then got them to the airport, quickly and safely, to beat their flight out of Charlotte. Needing a receipt for an expense report, I called and spoke with another friendly representative, who was immediately able to email it to me.
Quick and efficient, professional and courteous, I would not hesitate to use Rose again should the need arise, and I have forwarded their information to others at my office to use.

Professional, courteous, on time, awesome follow up are all things you would expect when using a service like this and all describe my experience with Rose.
I had to run out of town and was not able to pick up someone at the airport that was counting on a ride. I have seen many ads for Rose and decided to call them up. I received their pricing and thought it was a bit high. I shopped around for other car services and cabs for rates from CLT airport and found out that they were ALL higher than Rose. Why ride in a Yugo when you can get a Town Car right?
I called Rose back and they couldn’t be more helpful and professional on the phone. With just a days notice they took down all the information on the flight and gave me an emergency # for their dispatcher in case the flight was delayed and said a driver would be waiting for them at the airport with one of those nifty signs.
I received an e-​mail confirmation, a follow up call to confirm the pickup and a follow up e-​mail that the transaction was complete. Sometimes with cabs and other services you feel a bit uneasy that the pickup isn’t going to happen or something is going to go wrong. Not with these guys. BTW they’re open 24 hours which is comforting in case you need a pickup at 3am…
Great service makes me happy. Rose is highly recommended in my book!!!

I rented Roses bus for my wedding to transport guests from the hotel to the church. They were kind, professional, and I recommend them for your event. I was busy that day so didn’t have time to call to confirm, or make sure the bus was on time or stopping at all hotels, however they took it into their own hands and everything went off without a hitch! My guests were very happy. I am grateful to them for their professional service. Something I can not say about the company I used for my own limo. Do not go with Silver Fox… stay with Roses. They were fantastic.
