After discovering water damages in the ceiling in the living room, I contacted my home insurance. The representative came and inspected. Before I could get it fixed, I would have to have my roof investigated and possibly fixed. I was given three recommendations of contractors. I went with the first one, Rebuild. Sure enough, my roof needed to be replaced. OMG! Replacing a roof is friggin’ expensive! Initially, Rebuild said I only need to focus on half of the roof but I can opt for the entire roof to be replaced. Since it was so expensive, Rebuild offered some kind of financial assistance. At first, I called around but was unable to get a loan lower than Rebuild’s offer. So, I went ahead. From this point on, Rebuild just went downhill. I was told that the person responsible for finances was out. Ok, fine. Get me someone else. No, only that person does finances. Ok, can I have his phone number and phone number? No, he will get in touch with me. Why can’t I have his contact info? He will get with me. Rebuild wasn’t budging. Ok, have him contact me. 3 weeks go by and I follow up. Well? Oh, some run-around excuses. Well, screw that! I discovered Home Depot and their deal with roof replacement. Oh man, they were awesome! A month goes by and I still haven’t been followed up by Rebuild. For the life of me, I dunno why I called them back to fix the interior damage. Rebuild offered the same estimate as my house insurance did to do the repairs. I gave them the balance and they would start working within 2 weeks. The project would take 1 day. Oh, wow! This is even better than I thought. 2 weeks come by and 2 guys show up. Well, one showed up on time at 8am. The other showed up 1 hour later. The first guy couldn’t start on anything until the other guy arrive. Oh… so Rebuild contracts local contractors to do the work for them. Oh! They spent more time analyzing the damages and all that. Then, they said they were taking off to the store to get supplies and paint. They’ll be back in ½ hour. Turned out to be 2 hours. Claimed that they got lost. Therefore, they couldn’t finish the work and had to come back the next day. The next day, only the first guy showed up right at 8am. He was a friendly guy but man, he took his sweet time! He would work like 10 to 15 minutes and then had to take a cigarette break which would last 30 to 40 minutes because he was busy talking on his cellphone. Then, he had to go to the store to get more sandpaper. Be back in ½ hour. He didn’t come back until 3 hours later. He came in a different car. His car had broken down. Therefore, he had to leave and will come back the next day. The 3rd day is a Saturday. I’m up at 8am as was agreed. He was late by an hour. He finally finished at noon after his numerous breaks. It’s been 2 weeks. Rebuild has not followed up on the work nor has it followed up to collect the balance. I called today and my contact person is not available to take my call nor my concerns. Learn from my mistake. Do not bother Rebuild!
