Randolph OB/GYN

I have been to this practice since founding out that Andrinopoulos OB/​GYN office was closed due to his retirement in Feb 2015. I went to Andrinopoulos for my first pregnancy and wanted to go there for my second but since they were closed, I was stuck with the urgency to find a new OB/​GYN.
I was a bit hesitant to go to a new OB/​GYN office but after meeting the doctors (I met Dr. Hopkins first) and since they do a rotation, you have the opportunity to meet each doctors in the practice. For this being, they wanted you to become familiar with each one so whoever was on call for the day you were in labor, you would have already met them. All the nurses and doctors that I’ve encountered were so kind and sweet. Dr. Crosland was the doctor on call for the day I was in labor and she was so understanding and very friendly.
Currently I am expecting our third and will definitely go to this practice. Also, they are in the Novant Health network. So if you go to this location, the location of delivery for hospital will be Presbyterian in uptown.

I have been going here since I found out I was pregnant in January. I have met almost all the doctors and I think they are all super nice. I never have a problem getting in touch with them or making appointments. The nurses are wonderful too and so are the ultrasound techs. I always feel comfortable there and they answer any questions I have. I don’t know who will be delivering my baby, but I have total confidence in all the doctors there.

My wife had 3 visits here when we moved to Charlotte in our 36^th week of pregnancy. This practice will not support, nor do they any care to support women who want to practice natural child birthing techniques, and attempt a non– medicated birth.
Only one of the 3 doctors we saw was remotely accepting of any of our widely accepted techniques (positions, birth balls, squat bars, jacuzzi use etc…), they almost laughed when we presented them with a birth plan, (they dont use them or care to), and even simple professional courtesies like introducing themselves with a handshake the first time you meet them was never done.
Here are some of the absurd comments we were told (keep in mind, we have a low risk, normal pregnancy):
You must have an IV during birth or we wont deliver you.
I have never seen a woman in 15 years use a squat bar, does the hospital even have them? (It does, we took the hospital tour).
You cant walk around outside of you room during labor. You don’t want to leak on the floor, and we cant have other people see you in labor.
You must be continuously monitored.
Why would you want to delay the cord clamping? And if you do delay it, you can not have skin to skin contact. Pick one or the other.
Delayed cord clamping is likely to cause anemia in the baby and hemorrhaging in the mother.
You absolutely can not be in water after the water breaks. Its dangerous.
We can not deliver your baby in ANY other position other than you laying on your back.
You cannot move around during active labor.
We always use pitocin after delivery to deliver the placenta.
We are both very well educated, and with one of us being a nurse, we had done a lot of research on the topic of how to deliver naturally. We were very well versed in our conversation with them and they mostly scoffed and said we shouldn’t be worried about any of that. We even acknowledge that all of our plans are subject to change if there was a medical reason, and we would support them in what ever needed to be done at that point, fully understanding that sometimes medical intervention is required. However the culture and old school mind set of this practice does not do anything to empower women to trust their bodies, and believe in the natural process of giving birth, and educate and support them if they desire a non medicated labor and delivery.
I would suggest you find different practice.

Please do use this practice. I’ve had such a terrible experience. I would not wish on my worst enemy.

I love my doctor (Dr. Horne), but trying to make a scheduled appointment for a routine visit is nearly impossible. You can only call a month in advance to make an appointment, ok did that, afterwards you’ll get called by the receptionists several times to change this appointment. Sad that I’ll have to look for another practitioner.

Worst and most unprofessional doctor ive met went to doctor phil and without saying much illi just say he is a jerk. This is the kind of doctors that only think $$. And doesnt care much about the patient.

One word. Terrible!
I dont often write reviews, but I have nothing but negative experiences from this practice. From failure to returning an importatnt phone call, to charging for an appointment that was never scheduled, to over-​charging my credit card 10x more than what should have been. the list goes on. Don’t wast your health or you money.

I went to Randolph OBY in April 2011 and saw Dr. Naumann for the first time for a preventative care. I discussed couple of my concerns with her since it was my first time seeing her. After my visit, I got two office visit bills and one of them was denied for prevantative care. The doctor basically charge me additionally for discussing my concerns. Therefore they are charging me for the entire office visit when it should have been free for me. They were not nice and easy to reachable when I called so many times trying to understrand why there was an additional charge when she did not do anything extra other than prevantative care.
I regret seeing Dr. Naumann and will never ever go to that office again.
