Beginner/Intermediate wheel throwing classes
Instruction in the fundamentals of wheel throwing and trimming with an overview of glazing and firing processes. This class provides students with all skills needed to make basic forms in pottery.
Demonstrations are provided during each class session.
Advanced wheel throwing classes
Instruction focuses more on advanced techniques such as lidded forms, creating sets of items, large forms and surface decoration, just to name a few.
Demonstrations are provided during each class session.
Couples workshops, teambuilding, CMS art teacher renewal credit, birthday parties, boy scout/girl scout badge requirements, and on going children’s workshops are also offered.

Pottery Central is an independently owned & operated studio that has provided excellent pottery instruction in Charlotte for more than 15 years.

Andrew L.
Business Owner
Instructor: Andrew Linton
An East Carolina alum, Andrew was awarded the distinguished ceramist award.
He holds two degrees —
a BFA in Art Education (concentration in ceramics),
and a BFA in Painting.
He has taught many workshops and held many demonstrations at various prestigious locations: The Arrowmont Craft School,
The City of Columbia Clay Arts Studio, Midlands Clay Arts Society and
Mint Museum of Charlotte.
He has assisted renowned artists such as
Ron Meyers, Cynthia Bringle, Sun Koo Yuh,
and Linda Arbuckle.
