Established in 2009.
Poor Richard’s Book Shoppe, is an independent, family owned and operated business. The idea was born of a faltering economy. In April of 2009, as two of our eldest sons were preparing to graduate college, they were faced with the possibility of being unemployed with bachelor’s degrees in hand. Fully aware of the state of the [US] economy, we sat as a family and discussed their options. Having geared our children to position themselves as entrepreneurs, we posed the question of «If you could open a business, what would it be?» Brainstorming for hours into days, one son recommended a book that advised the public on how to ‘succeed’ in economic downturns. Searching for this publication became a daunting task. When we finally found it, it was at nominal cost.
