Nit Nabbers is an In-​Home Lice Removal Service for families in the Charlotte area. Nit Nabbers was founded by Jessica Sammis, a local teacher who discovered a need within the Charlotte community. Through her own experiences in the schools where she’s taught, Jessica saw the terrible frustration and difficulty that many parents would experience when dealing with a head lice infestation. Through many hours of research, she discovered how to effectively treat head lice without the use of pesticides and chemicals found in over the counter lice removal shampoos. And thus, Nit Nabbers was born.

«I never thought that I’d make my career as a «Nit Picker»! But after being involved in education for the past 9 years, I have seen first hand how frustrating head lice can be, and I am very excited to offer the Charlotte community help. Nit Nabbers is the culmination of months of research and a desire to provide parents with an outlet for their frustration.

«I remember getting head lice as a kid. I have long, thick, curly hair… a haven for head lice… so I was constantly battling an infestation. I remember long hours spent in the bathroom with my mother frantically trying to get rid of the nits, the shampoos, the combing, and yet they always seemed to come back. I even remember singing a parody of Billy Joel’s ‘My Life’ to my mother, «I don’t care what you say anymore, these are my lice! Go ahead with your own lice, leave mine alone!» Clearly frustration, and an early love of cheesy puns, has taken hold.
