King Of Pops

The name says it all king of pops. They really are the king of Popsicles. They have classic and creative flavors that are all amazing!

I LOVE King of Pops! They are a great organization that is dedicated to their community and customers. The creative flavored are always interesting. At the end of each season they invite the community for free pops and entertainment. Makes me love them more

This cart has the best cold treats in town! They come weekly to Premier and I always try to make a visit! The Mexican Choc and Choc Sea Salt are the best. I was trying to be healthy this go around so I decided to try the honeydew, vanilla and basil and it was great! It had chunks of honeydew and basil in it… very refreshing! I also tried the pumpkin pie and it tastes just like it says!!! Hats off to the creators of these frozen goodies!

I have to admit, every time I pass a King Of Pops cooler with rainbow umbrella, it’s hard for me not to smile. These guys have been bringing awesome pops to Charlotte for a while now providing fresh, all-​natural frozen treats.
The stand I most frequently see is next to JJ Red Hots on East BLVD, but you can usually find them at major events — Food Truck Friday is a good example or stalk… I mean follow them through their website:
The cart (s) always have a nice chalkboard sign that has the flavors they are offering at that particular moment. My favorite thing is seeing things crossed out — why? cause it means they are so popular that they are selling out them… I suggest if you see a cart and are «on the fence» about getting one, go ahead and get one before they are gone!
Sometimes at special events, the guys from King of Pops create special flavors. There was a Bacon, Beer & BBQ event at JJs where they collaborated on a bacon, chocolate, sea salt, cayenne pop — calling it a «JJ’s Red Pop». I love local collaborations and adventurous eating.
There is nothing better than having a nice cold treat on a hot summer day. Especially this current summer of heat and humidity, these guys are providing a much needed service to the community.

This was just a lucky day for me. I spotted the King of Pops guy on a corner while walking back to my car from Harris Teeter. It was 90° out so any type of iced treat gets pretty much an automatic yes from me! I stopped by and asked what flavors he had and the guy running the cart had some great customer service, I tell ya. Not something you’d expect from a popsicle cart. Anyways, he went down the list of flavors and what was in each popsicle. When I made my choice he even opened up the wrapper for me. I came to find out that those popsicles were actually homemade each morning. The
url on the popsicle stick served as evidence of this, but that evidence wasn’t needed. The flavor of it was unlike any other popsicle I’ve ever had. I opted for the chocolate sea salt based on his recommendation and I’m glad I didn’t. The taste was pretty great. Not mind-​blowing (hence the 4 stars) but VERY good. The pop didn’t melt quickly but held up quite well in the heat. It was creamy despite being solid. But also not frozen too hard where I couldn’t bite into it. The salt and chocolate complimented each other well — neither overpowered the other. If this one was that good, I can’t help but to think that the others aren’t too far off. I highly recommend this guy. $ 3 well spent. I’m sure to be back next time I’m in the area!

My first King of Pops! And the crowd goes wild! So I played it safe and got Strawberry Lemonade. Why? Because I can see the future. After my first two bites, I smiled and savored the fresh strawberry and lemon flavors. After my third bite, my kids commandeered the remaining Popsicle and literally ran away with it.
«Drat! I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for you meddling kids!» — every bad guy from Scooby Doo.
With ²⁰⁄₂₀ hindsight, I should have gotten a more exotic flavor but from what I hear, they’re all so damn good it wouldn’t have made a difference. King of Pops, the $ 3 adult Popsicle that kids love to steal…

My job treated us to «Ice Cream» today for doing well on our client survey. I walked to the designated area thinking I would see some store brought Ice Cream with bowls/​cones and toppings, but to my surprise the King Of Pops cart was set up! I was so excited since he comes to our building every Friday anyway and I always wanted to try it… but couldn’t bring myself to pay $ 3 for a popsicle! You’re talking to someone who grew up with $ 1 Popsicles off the neighborhood Ice Cream Truck. So today I positioned myself in line with the rest of my coworkers excited! When I got to the front of the line the guy was very friendly! He asked what I wanted and I told him with a smile the Blackberry Ginger Lemon please! He grabbed my popsicle, quickly cut the wrapper for me and handed me my popsicle and I immediately took my first lick. NOW THIS IS A POPSICLE FOR ADULTS!!! I grinned all the way back to my office! This popsicle was so delicious that I stopped after every office on the way making sure everyone knew they needed to go get their popsicle! They couldn’t miss this. The Blackberry Ginger Lemon was packed with the perfect blend of all 3 flavors. Not to sweet and not too much Ginger which I was worried about. I could not resume work until I finished the entire popsicle. Now I know that they are well worth the price and I can’t wait to Stalk the truck out on Friday to try another flavor! I went back by to take a few pictures and the guy working asked me how I was enjoying my popsicle. I said it’s delicious and he smiled and said he was glad I liked it. I love service with a smile…

My gawd, that is some kind o’ yummy popcicle. Banana Pudding, with nilla wafers right in it. I love the texture, more of a Gelato on a stick. Certainly a grown up version of the popcicle we used to snap in half. Also, not overwhelming in the sweet department. Okay, so I’m cheap. I thought that 3.13 was steep (don’t even get 2 sticks to snap and share) but otherwise amazing. I enjoyed reading the packaging, I think it had 6 or 7 ingredients. That’s awesome! Got mine at Picante on the West Side, they have 4 or 5 flavors. I’ll be back to try others.

Yummy, cold, local ingredients, and served with a smile.
No need to make it any longer you just need to find them and get one. Best 3 bucks you will spend!

They set up shop in the summer in Ballantyne — Bissel buildings off Ballantyne Corporate Place. Haven’t had a bad one yet.
Chocolate sea salt.
Peach is the best — natural, not too sweet, SO tasty.
Key lime pie — had a piece of graham cracker in it. Tangy, tart, sweet.
Strawberry — yes. Strawberry and cream — oh yes
The only problem — choosing which on to buy
Fortunately you can buy a cooler pack and take some home.

So hard to choose a favorite with so many delicious choices! Love the Banana Pudding (made with real vanilla wafers– my pop had an entire unbroken wafer in it!), Chocolate Sea Salt, Salted Caramel, Blackberry Ginger Lemon… oh man these pops are addictive!
But fortunately, I am seeing them «pop» up in more locations out here in the ‘burban Ballantyne area… The KOP mobile cart can be found in the Ballantyne Corporate Park a couple of times a week, and the pops can be found at JJ’s Red Hots Ballantyne & the Butcher’s Market in the Village @ Robinson Farms (formerly the Meat House).
Can’t wait to try more yummy flavors!

Inventive flavors of frozen sweet treats. You really can’t go wrong. This is a perfect treat on a hot day, and these are among the best of the variety of specialty popsicles I’ve had in my life. I will definitely be back to this location and will always squeal with glee when I see their cart parked near my home or office or shopping location of the day.

We finally got a popsicle from King of Pops are totally in love! I had the strawberry lemonade and it was delicious, I could taste and see the strawberry seeds in it!
My husband had the cookies and cream and it was also very tasty, I highly doubt you could go wrong with any option they have and they have a lot! We will def. be going back.
Also, the cart takes cards!

With the summer heat upon us, now is a great time to find the King of Pops cart. They have all sorts of popsicles, but not the standard variety that you might be used to as kids — instead you get things like grapefruit, cinnamon, fig and jalapeño. These are definitely not your mama’s pops, but don’t let that deter you.
The most difficult part other than finding them (look on their web site for upcoming locations) is deciding on what you want to order, because just about everything is tasty. The good news is that there are plenty, so don’t hold back — get one of each, or catch them the next day and get more. You might need a second job though, because these babies are addictive.

Chocolate Sea Sale… hands down best popsicle I have ever had. And being a graphic designer I can appreciate their super cute branding.
If you ever see one of their carts on the side of the road, do yourself a favor and pull over to pick up a pop.

Unique flavor and combinations you don’t see at your grocery store. All flavors are 2.50 per Popsicle and a dollar for a King of PoPS sticker to make the world jealous. We bought a case to bring to a cookout tonight!

Well, considering I stalk King of Pops all over our city… time for me to write a review.
How do I begin to describe my ongoing love affair with KOP? I’ve had 6 Popsicles in the last 4 days. Pretty sure I’ll be in an episode Intervention soon. $ 2.50 a pop and it’s worth every single damn penny. Bonus: they take credit cards.
I could sit here and write a novel listing every flavor I’ve had. Let’s just break it down to this: they’re all good. I can’t even pick a favorite. I love the Thai Tea, Iced Coffee, Lemon Basil, Mexican Chocolate. I had the Raspberry Rosewater one this weekend. Holy.

I really enjoy the Raspberry Lime pop, and the Ginger Pop. They have all types of fun exotic flavor combinations. For the adventurous try the Lemon Basil Pop very intense!

I really dig this little operation they have going here. The girl running the cart outside of WF Atrium today recommended the blackberry, ginger and lime. That’s what I got and its so flavorful! Good aftertaste with the ginger. Next time you see them in your ‘hood, stop and get a treat.

Oh King of Pops, I love you so much I popsicle stalked you all the way to another state! Having started coming to Charlotte for business every other week it seems, I figured that I might as well get my pop fix while I’m here (I can’t exactly transport them from Atlanta without meltage occurring).
Anyway, each trip, it hasn’t worked out that a cart has been convenient to my meetings or needing to drive back to Atlanta. This time, they just so happened to be about 5 minutes from my hotel about the time I was arriving from the ATL (yay me). So I drove past my hotel’s exit and stopped off at the Meeting Street Market and found that nifty rainbow umbrella and met Neil.
Unable to decide from the list on the chalkboard (I didn’t want any flavor I could get in Atlanta — and yes, they are different), I went for 2 pops. I bought the Fresh NC Peach (I had to compare the NC peach to the GA peach) to eat immediately and then the Orange Cream for later (not knowing we would eat so much at dinner).
I would say that the peach pops are almost indistinguishable — however being a Georgia Peach myself, I have to side with the GA pop. But let’s be honest, you cannot go wrong with a King of Pop — EVER.
KoP NC keeps expanding and expanding and I urge you all to try them and find them around town and support your local businesses. These guys make a quality product and I just cannot get enough — before I did anything else when I came into town, I found KoP. «Nuff said.
