Our state-​of-​the-​art office has the latest dental technology, including digital x-​rays and a digital camera just for mouths, so you can see what we see and better understand the health of your mouth.

The office is modern, yet comfortable. All of the rooms have great second floor window views, and are equipped with cable TV as well as Pandora music, so it is easy to relax there — the way that *you* want.

Dr. Ann Coambs has been helping people in the Charlotte area achieve healthy smiles since 2005.

She opened her own office in 2012, with the mission of providing you and your entire family with the dental care you deserve, in a relaxing and friendly environment.

Imagine Dentistry is located in the Arboretum, but serves all of the south Charlotte area.

Business Owner

Dr. Ann Blaine Coambs is a friendly, outgoing dentist who calls Nebraska her original home. She completed her undergraduate studies at Rice University in Houston, Texas, then completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston in 2005. Dr. Coambs then entered a general practice residency program at Carolinas Medical Center hospital to further her dental training, and Charlotte has now been her home for over 10 years.

Dr. Coambs is a member of a local dental study club, the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

In 2012, Dr. Coambs earned the prestigious Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD designation), signifying her commitment to ongoing dental education. Recently, Dr. Coambs has pursued advanced training at The Dawson Academy to address and help alleviate her patients’ TMJ pain and bite problems.

Dr. Coambs and her staff are very professional and pleasant to be around. I spoke with Amanda on the phone and she took her time speaking with me about their practice and what I was looking for re: dental care. When I arrived for my first appointment at 7:00am Melissa was at the front and greeted me with a smile.
Dr. Coambs met with me immediately after I checked in around 7:05am. She spent some time telling me about her background and was very thorough in asking me about my dental history.
She then brought me to Tiffany who was my dental hygienist. Tiffany was awesome! Probably the most knowledgeable, friendly, and skilled hygienist I have ever had.
After my cleaning and examination, Tiffany walked me to the office where Melissa met with me and went over my billing options.
For the first time in my life I am actually looking forward to going back to the dentist.

It feels like a big sales pitch — you should get this and you really need that! — all of which result in unnecessary medical bills. When I called in to complaint about a bill I had received in the mail weeks after I had gone in for my service that I paid for on the spot, the receptionist never called back, and instead responded by email. I had never experienced anything so unprofessional. If I called, I expect you to call back. She was also condescending and rude. I had mentioned that I had an x-​Ray at Imagine Dentistry that Dr. Coambs said I would need anyway to get my braces on, but my orthodontist had to retake that same x-​ray because apparently there was an issue with opening the files sent between the two doctors. When I asked why I was exposed twice to the same x-​ray, the receptionist wrote sarcastically that she was sorry I was exposed to the extra radiation. I was upset that instead of calling and speaking to me on the phone, she replied to the message by email. After that initial complaint, I didn’t feel comfortable returning, as the staff defiantly was not as happy-​go-​lucky as the first time when I had went in.
Whenever I needed a referral to a doctor, Dr. Coambs would only refer me to the most expensive providers in the city. I had the feeling like they were all friends helping each other build clientele. Which is okay, however I was looking for the best doctor, not the most expensive one.
On my last visit, as I lay with my mouth wide open getting a cavity filled, Dr. Coambs informed me that the x-​ray did not show the extent of my cavity, and that I would actually need a root canal. She put in a temporary filling and sent me off. This was one week before I was set to have my braces put on, and I was left squandering for an endodontist. As noted above, I was referred to a very expensive doctor. Thankfully I found a great doctor who did the job for much less.
Bottom line — personally I would prefer a doctor that knows what they’re doing, and is not interested in selling me services, but in treating my health.

Excellent dental experience! This Team is fun and did a wonderful job to make me comfortable and welcome. They are very professional and detailed… explaining each process and procedure while checking on your comfort during the entire visit. I can’t recommend them highly enough! Please give Dr. Coambs and Team Imagine a visit soon!

What a great experience Imagine Dentistry provides. Everyone here is so friendly, patient and kind. I have never been a fan of going to the dentist, now I can’t wait to go.

I can’t tell you how much I dreads going to the dentist. All these implements going in and out of my mouth and of course my gag reflux doesn’t help my situation much. I understand it been almost 3 years since my last visit so I booked an appt… And don’t you judge me. Lol…
It’s easy to email them for an appt and get a response right away. And it’s fairly easy to get in.
I filled out my forms that morning prior to coming in and bam! No need for all those forms to be fill out when I get there.
Jessica greeted me at the front desk. She’s very pleasant… Tiffany is my dental hygienist. She’s the one that made this visit worth it for me. When I step into her area. I feel like I know her family quick. Let me see… She have 3 toddlers, all adorable and look like a tall skinny husband. How do I know that, because she proudly displayed all their pictures in that area. About 4 to be exact. She made me fill like this dentistry is not an in and out type of place. It’s a little more personal. She also take the time to explain the process. Most people could care less but for people like me who haven’t been there. I need to listen up. She nicely fusses at me about needing to floss more. It sound like this in my ears. «Sweetheart, eat your vegetables!» Lol…
Dr. Ann Combes came to sign off and answer my questions about getting things shifted cosmetically. Funny, she ACTUALLY READ my chart. She mentioned how she notice I owned La Bliss and want to know where it located. That impressive. And I just filled out the forms that morning.
Overall I’m satisfy with the service I received today. Nothing major needed done. I’m not dreading nor will I be jumping with joy either for my next visit in 3 months. However, I can say I’m overall happy that I have found a good dentistry to go to here on out.
