Way over priced. Limited hours. Only accepts cash. Slow service. First off, their OPEN sigh wasn’t even turn on for the few hours they are actually open, I went in to get a links taken out of a watch and 2 batteries replaced. $ 35!!! What a rip off! I could have done it myself but I didn’t have the tools to open the watch. Any place that I have ever gone to get any amount of links taken out of a watch has always done it complimentary. They charge $ 15 just to take them out! I’m all about supporting local businesses but not when they over charge. Won’t be going back here and I recommend people reading this in the Charlotte area take their business elsewhere.

Excellent overhaul on my Rolex watch! Highly recommended! Limited hours, so call them first.

I had inherited a late 19th century Swiss-made Cuckoo clock. When the clock stopped working correctly I left it as is because in Charlotte it is very difficult to find establishments which repair such heirlooms. After speaking with an acquaintance I was referred to this shop as they took care of her grandfather clock. Therefore I headed to Central Avenue in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood that is dotted with independent businesses. The Hall Clock Shop has been a Charlotte institution since the World War II era. It is one of the few places left in this throwaway age where one can get an old timepiece repaired. I took the clock here for repairs; it was looked at and I was told that the parts were hard to come by so it might take a while. I appreciated the honesty and it prepared me for the worst. However the clock was able to be fixed earlier than I expected since we lucked out on the part. One thing that I did not like about the Hall Clock Shop was that the hours of operation are very limited as they close very early in the day. It is probably best to go here during your lunch break, or arrive within the even narrower Saturday hours of 10am-12pm, so drink lightly on Friday. Overall despite the limited hours of operation this place is good to visit if you have a clock or watch to repair, especially if it is an heirloom.
