I’ve been going to Ashley Mossor for about 3 years now and she’s the best! I can’t say enough good things about her skills. I always get so many compliments on my cut + color after I leave! I’m so happy that she’s at Escape because I love the ambiance and the fact that the owner is big on professionalism and supporting the community. On top of that, the services are reasonably priced and everyone on the staff is super friendly. If you give Ashley and Escape a try, you’ll definitely become a new regular!

Listen! I went to Escape today and I can tell you that I have never left a salon feeling as good as I did today! I called yesterday to get some information and Kelsey picked up the phone. She was beyond helpful, she gave me her email address to send her a picture of the color I wanted on my hair so she could match me with the right stylist. Within 5 minutes of sending the email, she called me back to set up a color consultation with Ashley M.
When I arrived, Kelsey and Ashley M. were at the front desk. They were both super friendly and Ashley took me to her chair immediately. She looked at the picture before I got there and had actually played around with some colors on some extensions to show me what they would look like! I’ve never had anyone do that before! The owner, Jim came over and introduced himself and took a look at what I wanted. With both of their input, we decided on a look that was perfect for my skin tone, natural hair color, etc. Then, Ashley said she had time to do my hair right then. Sold!
I’ve never been to a salon where EVERYONE was so friendly and approachable… From the stylists to the customers! I think I had a conversation with every single person in there. I want to say thank you to everyone in there, because it was literally the best salon experience that I have had while living in Charlotte. Ashley had a customer come in for a blowout while my hair dye was processing, so she asked Stephanie if she would help by washing my hair and Stephanie did it without any complaint. Teamwork makes the dream work! Plus, Stephanie gave me a bunch of restaurant recommendations when I told her I was moving to Plaza Midwood next month!
Not to mention my hair looks AMAZING! The color is beautiful! Ashley M did such a rock star job that I can say I have found my new stylist!!!
I would recommend this salon to any and everyone!

A great salon is challenging to find when you are new to a city. I did a lot of research before settling on Escape, and I am so happy that I did.
I love the fact that I can schedule my appointments online because with my busy work schedule, I often don’t have time to make appointments during day time hours. The salon is located in a great part of town with some cute boutiques nearby, and the best part is the free parking lot across the street.
The salon itself is very clean inside and has a trendy industrial vibe. I appreciate that they feature and rotate work from local artists. There is also a good selection of coffee and tea for patrons. The salon also carries products from Davines.
My stylist and the owner, Jim, was able to work with and improve on my existing color and haircut from the salon that I frequented in Nashville. He always does a great job of recommending products and ways to simplify my styling time and better the maintenance of my hair. He’s also just a really nice guy to chat with for a few hours.

Fabulous salon that is very customer focused. They are everything you want from a Salon — helpful, friendly, and go out of their way to ensure a relaxed atmosphere. My stylist takes the time to discuss your hair (issues, problems, etc.) before making any recommendations and explaining why she is making them. She is knowledgeable, skilled, and up-​to-​date about products and treatments. Although they sell some products, they do not «push’ them. Additionally, my stylist invites you to contact her if you have follow up questions or any issues at all.

Last night at Escape, the Owner, Jim Tate, created a Willy Wonka themed «TOYS FOR TOTS» event that was such a success! Three different local Chocolatier’s were invited, The Secret Chocolatier, Davidson Chocolates, and Twenty Degree’s of Chocolate. They set up beautiful displays of all their yummy chocolates! There was a competition between them. But the whole event was really about the wonderful «Toys for Tots» event. There was Handsome Strong Marines to collect the toys. Saturday in Charlotte was Small Business Saturday, And the Southend has some wonderful small businesses, Escape Hair and Skin Salon is definitely one of them. They are a trendy full service salon, with a Separate Esthetician Room, and expert colorists and Hair Cutters. They also have a Braid Bar for all the trendy new braids that people are wearing. They also feature local artists in a gallery setting to display their offerings. If you haven’t tried them I would highly recommend them. they are a extremely great salon!

Jill is the best. I’ve been going to her for years and love my hair each time. Never gets old having such a great hair stylist! The atmosphere of Escape is laid back and welcoming. They even made me a cup of coffee!

Fabulous work by Julia. My style was just what I asked for but even better. She didn’t forces her will on what I wanted. She listened and asked question with a relaxed demeanor that made me feel comfortable.

I’m new to Charlotte and was in need of a new hair stylist. Jill was awesome! She knew exactly what my curly hair needed and gave me an awesome cut. She’s very knowledgeable and super fun to hang with. They are reasonably priced and have great products. I will definitely be back to see Jill. I have found my new salon and stylist, which ladies, you know is not always easy. Visit Escape Salon today!

love, Love, LOVE Escape and Jill Dyer. The salon is gorgeous and Jill is an exceptional stylist. She will make you look and feel more fabulous than you ever thought was possible. I’m blown away with her creativity, talent, and ability to truly understand what each of her clients wants and more importantly, needs!

Wonderful experience!!! Jill did my hair and I can’t say enough about her– very talented and skilled but also really just a joy to be around! I was greeted at the front desk like my business was truly appreciated, the place has an amazing vibe– warehouse gallery type feel including local rotating art on the walls. They have a nice fish tank, huge sky lights giving great natural light and very tasteful layout including a partition for the shampoo area for a bit of privacy. Jill spent at least 20 minutes listening to me and looking at my monster collection of hair photos on pinterest and you can tell she loves what she does– she was so excited with the vision for what she wanted to do and for the results. I have red course hair and its just really hard to do and the color came out very pretty and the cut is great and modern. First time ever that I didn’t run home and immediately shower and style it my way. First time I enjoyed the scalp massage without my hair being pulled or clawed. So happy to have found this place and Jill!

i’ve been a client for almost a year and i have to say that Escape has one of the nicest and friendliest atmospheres around. Ashley typically does my cut and color, but I have also used two other stylists too. I able to schedule a brow wax in between my cut and color which is priceless for someone forever short on time. Prices seem to be comparable or a little less than what I have paid at other Charlotte salons.

I’m sad to say that our hair guy has left this salon as well as the colorist so I’m following him. It was a great environment and extremely convenient. The staff is very nice and they will take excellent care of you. Give it a shot.
