History

Established in 2003.

Dialect, LLC was created by Jahan Nourbakhsh and Tobias Witte in 2003 in an effort to bring contemporary and sustainable buildings, structures, and inhabitable environments to the greater Metropolitan area of Charlotte, NC. First operating out of Concord, Dialect moved to Charlotte’s art district NoDa in 2006. Since then Dialect has expanded its services to also serve as a local art salon.

In 2009 Dialect started to offer its design and building services to its clients nationwide.

This tiny little studio is found by a tiny little sign on the street near the fire station and on the second floor. But if you can find it you can go look at some cool stuff that some local artists may have hanging up!
I went here for a friend’s gallery showing and it was pretty cool, though there is not much soundproofing going on and you can hear almost everything going on in the street. Not conducive if you’re going for a peaceful meditative mood when police/​fire sirens are blaring. But if you’re going for the NYC city feel this place will be right up your alley! Literally!

After speaking with a friend of mine I found out that this is really more of a studio than a gallery. They allow artists to use their space for free, so naturally other artwork might be hanging in the same space.
