Specialties
CSL Plasma is one of the largest collectors of human plasma.
This plasma is the key ingredient for products crucial to treating patients suffering from a host of life-threatening conditions, including hemophilia, shock or trauma, immune deficiencies, and other blood disorders.
History
Established in 1994.
CSL Plasma is steeped in a tradition of innovation and excellence. We’re a wholly owned subsidiary of CSL Behring, headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Other facilities include a manufacturing plant in Kankakee, Illinois, and facilities in Broadmeadows, Australia, Marburg, Germany and Bern, Switzerland. The Behring name honors the scientific efforts by founder Emil von Behring, whose serum therapy was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1901.
CSL Plasma and CSL Behring are owned by a larger group, CSL Limited, based in Melbourne, Australia. CSL first began in 1916 by supplying vaccines for the Australian government. In 1994, CSL became a public company, listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. Since then, CSL Limited has grown rapidly to become a successful and well-respected global specialty biopharmaceutical company. CSL currently employs over 10,500 associates worldwide.
