History

Established in 2007.

In 2006, Dr. Charles «Chuck» Knudson and his family decided to move to Charlotte, NC to enjoy raising their three children and he joined EyeOptix Vision and Laser Centers. In December, 2007, Dr. Knudson helped EyeOptix open their Ballantyne and Uptown offices and has been seeing patients there to the present. In 2011, Dr. Knudson offered to buy the Ballantyne location from EyeOptix so that he could provide more focus and care for the patients he had come to know in Ballantyne and the surrounding areas. August 2011 brought that exciting possibility to a reality.

Prior to leading joining EyeOptix, Dr. Knudson graduated from Southern College of Optometry in 1991. He became a partner/​owner of the Optometry Group in Memphis, TN and practiced there for 7 years. In 1998, after marrying his wife Leigh, they moved to Denver, CO where he became the President and CEO of Vision Care Specialists, Inc. — an optometry/​ophthalmology practice with 14 doctors and multiple locations.

Business Owner

Charlotte eye doctor Chuck Knudson has over 20 years experience in professional eye care. He is a graduate of the Southern College of Optometry. His professional optometric career includes partner/​ownership of the Optometry Group in Memphis, where practiced seven years. He was later President & CEO of Vision Care Specialists, Inc in Denver with an optometry and ophthalmology practice of 14 doctors and several offices.

Dr. Knudson moved with his wife Leigh and family to Charlotte to raise their three children. Chuck joined EyeOptix Vision and Laser Centers and helped open the Ballantyne and Uptown offices. Dr Knudson has served patients in the Ballantyne optometry office ever since.

Carolinas Vision Group formed in 2011 to allow Dr Knudson to purchase the practice from EyeOptix and give greater focus and eyecare for the patients of south Charlotte, Ballantyne and the surrounding areas. August 2011 brought that exciting possibility to a reality.
