Charlotte Elite Event: A Yelpy Thanksgiving at Table 274

The recipes exchange, the fantastic beer/​wine selection, and the stellar pre-​Thanksgiving meal gives me much to be thankful for.
Thank you Table 274 for providing a delicious twist on Thanksgiving classics: turkey roulade, green bean casserole balls, and mini pecan pies to name a few. I got the satisfaction of an entire Thanksgiving meal without the guilt of being stuffed. I will certainly be coming back to sample your other creations!
Thank you Four Friends Brewing for bringing your best creations to the event. You made a fan out of me with the Queen City Red!

I feel quite guilty that I haven’t reviewed this event until now. The delay doesn’t indicate lack of appreciation. This was a fun and filling event. It was nice to have a Thanksgiving dinner with our Unilocal friends. It was just like a family gathering, minus the bickering! I jest…
The food was good, of course. I can’t even complain about the server being a little confused at first, since he did a great job considering the number of people who descended upon him. However, the food was secondary to getting to socialize with the Unilocal crowd!

Special thanks to Nicole, Todd and Table 274 for putting together an awesome event.
The ambience at Table 274 was great. Very comfortable setup for the great group of Elite family and friends! The food and wine pairings were great also! Country Vintner is one of my number one distributors on the East coast. I have been able to obtain some very unique wines from there via one of my favorite «Winestores». Everyone at our table loved the 3 courses. they were put together very well! Our server was very thoughtful as he managed the challenge of making sure everyone had each course.
Tonya was very smooth with the camera. She was all over, with the flash going and the conversation bubbles presented by the guests! What a cool and fun concept!
I look forward to returning to Table 274 and other future events provided by Nicole and the Unilocal team!

Thanks Table 274 for hosting an awesome Thanksgiving meal for us Unilocalers. My family doesn’t really celebrate holidays the normal way so it was nice to eat a thanksgiving dinner for once. To give you an idea lets have a fun review where I compare the courses to what I usually have for Thanksgiving.
The crostini amuse bouche was fine and dandy after I scraped off the pork pâté. The remaining salsa and bread were just fine even if they were missing the creaminess of the pâté. This reminded me of predinner mojitos fresh and crisp.
Next came the main course, a turkey roulade with smashed potatoes, minty cranberries, and a fried green bean casserole ball. Now I’ve never had a green bean casserole before but after trying this out I think I need more of it in my life. The cranberries were very tart but that helped balance out the saltiness of the turkey for me a lot. This dish brought back fond memories of cranberry vodkas in the kitchen while sampling whatever mum was making.
And last but not least came dessert. I liked the pumpkin cream puffs, they were very mild and pleasing to my palate after the salt heavy turkey entrée. Along with the pecan tartlet, and caramel apple pops were my favorite part of the meal. We don’t have any pumpkin style alcohol in our dinner but maybe we should start, there are plenty of appletinis consumed during thanksgiving though!
Last but not least probably my favorite thing of all, I managed to sneak into every other picture. Thanks for indulging my inner photo whore Tonya! This probably ranked somewhere around one of the top 5 events for me. Loves it, and all the fine folks at Table 274 for hosting us! They are so welcoming and they remember me and greet me with a smile every time I’m there, even after too many martinis. That makes me feel special.

This was my first visit to Table 274. I had a great time meeting my fellow Unilocal Eliters and my invited guests were very impressed with the event! The pre-​selected menu was fitting for the holiday but I look forward to visiting the restaurant and making my own food selections.
The Merlot wine from Country Vintner was fabulous as were the recipes I picked up from the exchange! I look forward to sharing them with my family.

Once again Unilocal and local businesses have come together to provide a beautiful night filled with great people, awesome service, and lovely food. Table 274 presented us with a fresh, delcious, and creative 3 course Thanksgiving dinner. They were also incredibly willing to accomodate my vegetarian wishes (and had a few friends who were a bit jealous of my non-​meat offerings). Roasted beet bruschetta with apple and butternut squash salsa; mushroom risotto ball with roasted brussels, cranberry sauce, and squash; and a lovely medly of deserts complete with the most scrumptious mini pecan pie I’ve ever had (or actually, even among the normal sized pie).
The waitstaff was attentive and friendly… the beer and wine was plentiful and delicious… just really couldn’t think of a better evening. Thank you Unilocal,Nicole, and Table 274 (You are awesome!)

Happy Thanksgiving Y’all! What a great way to start the holiday week with a Thanksgiving meal with the Unilocal crew. Table 274 was a great host. The staff was friendly & accommodating, and I thought the food was fantastic! I’m already trying to figure out how to make those edible balls on Thursday. Presentation was spot on for me too!
Four Friends had two great selections of beer and I enjoyed the red wine as well! Music in the background was a nice touch and is something I enjoy when I’ve eaten on the patio and Table 274 has music out there during the week.
It was great to see everyone as usual. Thanks to Nicole for planning another well thought out event. Loved the chalkboards. I know Poprock Photography enjoyed them too! Until the next time…

My table’s server was warm, smiley, and made sure we all got our courses in the correct order. The green bean casserole ball and cranberry relish were delicious!
The cabernet sauvignon was wonderful and so was the white wine I had a few (OK, maybe more than a few) sips of. My +1 really enjoyed the I-​77 Ale.
Gabbing w everyone at the table really put me in a holiday mood. Having our own personal photographer added to the flair of it all. A wonderful time!

What a perfect way to spend a Fall Sunday evening! Absolutely loved last night. It was really great to see so many new faces and to meet another establishment management and team.
I was really on the wall whether or not to give Table 274 a try from the reviews, so I was elated when I heard about the Unilocaly Thanksgiving hosted by Table 274. I really enjoyed the layout and ambiance — it will make a great afternoon stop while out shopping (I frequent this shopping center a lot).
Last night was the first time I tried a «pâté» and I really loved it. It was quite a surprise. I also enjoyed the rest of the dinner (some of it was a bit salty for me — BUT that is just me-​I barely cook with salt, so it’s just my preference). The wine was great, the water wasn’t (but that is a ME thing) and of course Four Friends… always stellar.
I look forward to my next visit and once again, Thank you Nicole for introducing me to yet another fab Queen City joint! I will be back to sample more.

What a fun Sunday event– way better than any Sunday football in my opinion. The 274 team were all so accommodating seemed just as happy as the Unilocal crew to be hosting all of us. I’m not sure who had the idea to do different courses, what a nice touch! The food presentation was almost as good as the food itself. Country Vintner supplied a lovely red wine to go along with my courses.
That little pecan pie was my personal fav. I was thinking of ways to bribe the food runner to get me a to go box full of them!
I didn’t get many recipes, but I hope other Unilocalers racked up some new recipe ideas.
On another note, Table 274’s décor was very calming along with the live music. And Tonya of course captured the night’s mood– the chalk board was a new idea!
I will have to venture out to Table 274 again… maybe for brunch!

I too had a great time at this event! Being around fabulous friends/​fellow Unilocalers was a great way to kick-​start my holiday season!
I did not partake in any wine/​beer but stuck to some ice water throughout the duration. Another review mentioned the lack of water re-​fills with combined saltiness of turkey and I have to agree, ithey were a bit heavy-​handed on the salt for my taste. Our server was extremely friendly if a bit disheveled at times. He was able to arrange a veg-​frienly option for my friend so all and all he did go above and beyond (and that smile never faded), so I have to cut him some slack there.
L-​O-​V-​E-​D the green been casserole balls and those tiny pecan pies– I wanted to swap out for that recipe! I really enjoyed that everything had a little twist to it and that they really thought outside the box (Top Chef-​style!)
Great job and a huge thanks to all the vendors, Nicole & the Unilocal crew, and of course Table 274 for having us!

Yay! My boyfriend & I had a blast at last night’s Unilocaly Thanksgiving.
I was blown away by the special menu they prepared, just for us! Also, love the fact that we had our own little area to eat & socialize. The restaurant itself (I’ve never been) had a cozy feel. We were lucky enough to share a table with the lovely Tonya, so I enjoyed chatting with her. :)
Our waiter was very friendly & pretty attentive, but a bit clueless about the menu layout /​flow of the menu. Like Chad, we were disappointed about the apple pops, but saw someone else bringing them out, so we asked…& we received! I thoroughly enjoyed them! I really liked everything they brought out for us, I left with a very happy belly. :) My favorite was the green bean casserole thingy.
I didn’t partake in the Four Friends beer, but my boyfriend did. He was very impressed. I had the chardonnay & I liked it… although, I’m not a huge wine connoisseur. ;)
We scored nice recipes, pictures from Tonya are awesome & the chalkboard speech bubbles were a perfect addition! Thanks to Nicole, Todd, Annie, Tonya & Table 274!

We are also thankful for Nicole sharing her talents as the event planner extraordinaire and Tonya for capturing some cool photos. Also, thanks to Brett Ramsey for the nice tunes while we dined.
And last but not least, I am also thankful that I get to meet so many cool and interesting Unilocalers at these Elite events!
I have to say, the pork pâté crostini was not my fav — I scraped the pâté off and the remaining butternut squash & apple salsa was ok but not fabulous. However, the Green Bean Casserole Arracini was DELISH!!! Hands down the most inventive and exciting thing that I tasted all night.
The Stuffed Turkey with collard green & cornbread stuffing was quite tasty and I enjoyed the sides as well. Sadly, we missed out on the carmel apple pops — that was disappointing… but the mini pecan pie was awesome! The pumpkin pie profiteroles fell a tad short on flavor, but I liked the idea of them.
David and I like to support local entrepreuners whenever we can, so we will definitely be going back to Table 274!

Dear Table 274, your fantastic vegan efforts never go unnoticed! Thank you for the extra effort in providing me with some über amazing noms that had some of the omnivores at my table jealous.
While I was in between Course 1 and 2, it dawned on me (beware, this is one of my over-​sentimental, nausea-​inducing, sappy thoughts that come and go): Unilocal has sort of served as the closest thing to family since I joined up when I first made the move to Charlotte. So! Having a holiday-​themed event, A Unilocaly Thanksgiving, seemed incredibly relevant and was so much fun (seriously, I was all smiles all evening).
Alright, digging into the vegan menu:
— my Amuse consisted of two different kinds of beets with an apple relish over a piece of baguette.
— Course 2 consisted of a flash-​fried risotto ball (like the omnivore’s option), cranberry relish, and roasted mushrooms/​brussel sprouts/​onion wrapped in swiss chard and paired with some sort of excellent purée on the side. Super scrumptious.
— Course 3 was like everyone else’s (yes, the vegan cheated– again. For dessert– again.): a pumpkin cream puff and a mini tart-​sized pecan pie. Later on when the gang and I were all headed out, we actually found out from a waiter that there was an apple pie potsticker and so he rushed out a round of them for us. It was pretty good and reminded me of caramel apples when I was a kid. So good. Such a good season-​inspired trio.
Drink-​wise, I went with some red wine. Country Vineyards had a Dante Merlot (forgot the year) and a 2010 Gougenheim Cabernet Sauvignon. The Gougenheim I’ve had before (just the right amount of dried fruits and spice– perfect for this season) and the Dante was a new brand for me and I was pretty pleased with its fresh berries and subtle tannins. (I’ve been doing wine reviews like crazy, can you tell?)
I had such a lovely evening– thanks Table 274, Four Friends Brewery and Country Vineyards!

Huge props to Table 274 for having us back (they hosted a Unilocaly Hour back in May), but for providing such incredible — and local! — ingredients to their dishes, and maybe most impressively for this event, serving it all up in a sit-​down meal.
I completely get why some businesses will do food in appetizer fashion when it comes to having a bunch of goofballs invade the place for a couple of hours, but this sort of sit-​down, table-​service meal leaves a much better impression of what they can offer if you are likely to return on your own, since appetizer buffets are not commonly found.
That said, there were some missteps, such as water glasses going unfilled for a bit, or the mini apple pops not being ready at the right time, or even dishes being combined on one plate — but there were definitely remedies here. The food all came out eventually, if you asked nicely you could get the pops served up, and you could get replacements in the form of some other beverage, so it is all good: And most importantly, the food was awesome (hands off my balls!) and service came with a smile all night long.
Also, a big thanks to Four Friends for their cooler o’ plenty, our fearless leader and amazing planner Nicole, the photography skills of social butterfly Tonya from Poprock and the fellow elites who served up their recipe cards to share with everyone — especially those who busted out the family secrets. And I am looking at you here, Will.

Loved the Unilocaly Thanksgiving event! It was a great new experience for me and I loved every minute of it.
This was my first time to Table 274 and it won’t be my last. The waiters and staff really went out of their way to make me/​us feel welcome and well taken care of. The food was delish and I can’t wait to go back and try them for lunch and dinner. My fav dish was their stuffed turkey Roulade. YUM. Four Friends Brewing was great and I enjoyed thier beer choices…(So did Hubs). Tonya P was a bundle of JOY as well. I always love just watching her. She’s so much fun! And Nicole… again. you out did yourself on this one and I thank you dearly. I’m excited to try out the recipe that I took… I’ll be making it for breakfast Thanksgiving morning.
I enjoyed meeting other fellow Unilocalers and talking and learning the ropes of what it is to be Elite. Thank you to all who participated and for a wonderful night!

A fantastic event and great excuse to see the Charlotte Unilocal family for the holidays! I loved the idea of a recipe swap — a great way to share your traditions with each other!
Table 274 is one of my favorites for locally obtained ingredients. Tonight’s fare was splendid, as always. I loved their twists on the Thanksgiving classics, especially the green bean casserole ball, tangy cranberry sauce, and collard-​stuffed turkey. It’s what I needed to start feeling the holidays!

This Unilocaly Thanksgiving was a feast! Things I’m thankful for:
1. Table 274: Delicious food from the first bite to the third course! The cranberry sauce had a tangy zest that paired nicely with the collard stuffed turkey. My favorite dessert bite was the pecan pie.
2. Four Friends Brewing: yay for home-​town beer!
3. In true Thanksgiving fashion, this event brought people together. I hope whoever took my recipe enjoys!
4. Nicole W. for being awesome and making us Unilocalers happy and well fed & glasses always full! It’s great to experience a variety of restaurants, vendors, and activities.
Table 274 staff were wonderful hosts! They are sincere and it was clear they love what they do. I’m happy to support this restaurant and the wonderful people that work here to provide Charlotte good and seasonal dishes!

This was one of the best Elite events to date!
I have never been to Table 274, but I was not disappointed for my first visit. The food was VERY good, and the portions were sizable. From the Turkey to the cranberry sauce to the wine, it was a great tasting and meal. The desserts were some of my favorite.
The Table 274 staff were fantastic and the beer from Four Friends Brewing was good, though I only had a tasting, not a entire glass of it. The wine on the other hand was very good!
As this year winds down as Nicole W’s first as our fearless leader, she continues to hit it out of the park.
I would have given this 5 stars, but I still find Poprock photography doing more socializing than taking pictures as they either are being picky about who they shoot or just don’t know how to work a room that well??? Oh well, all an all, close that gap with perhaps another photographer next time it will be perfect elite event.

Another great Unilocal Elite Event. Thanks to Nicole and those involved for organizing it.
Table 274 has become one of my favorite restaurants lately because their food is consistently good and the service is exceptional. A couple flaws though tonight… something with the turkey was extremely salty and water glasses at my table went unfilled. Our table seemed overlooked many times during the night.
But the green bean casserole ball was a wonderful twist on a Thanksgiving classic.
Four Friends has become one of my favorite breweries and I am happy they are local. the I-​77 ale is a wonderful brew.
