If you’re like us, your pets are family members. When you can’t be home for them, whether because of work, vacation or other obligations, you want them taken care of with the same love and attention you give them. That’s exactly what we do at Carolinas’ Critter Sitters.

30-​minute visits includes food, H2O, walks, medicine, litter scoop, report card of the visit, & LOTS of TLC + household items like mail/​plant watering/​trash in&out/lights & blinds changed. You may schedule as many visits per day as your pet (s) requires.

Business Owner

Pets have always been my passion. I should have been a veterinarian. We lived on a farm when I was little and always had pets after that. I started babysitting kids at age 12 and as the kids got older and didn’t need me anymore, the pets needed me at vacation time, and so began my career as a pet sitter. I moved to the Charlotte area, with 6 cats and 4 birds (that was a fun 10 hour drive), from PA in July 2001 for a position in Human Resources for a local company. During this time I was pet sitting part time here in the Carolinas. In June 2006, I decided to leave the company that I had been with for 5 years and work with critters full time. I have a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Kutztown University in Kutztown, PA. I also have an MBA from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA. Additionally, I am a Certified Professional Pet Sitter through the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters and a member of Pet Sitters International.

I’ve boarded my sweet, skittish rescue dog at a couple of other places in Charlotte, and in Raleigh when we lived there, and Carolina’s Critter Sitters is definitely the best experience we’ve had. I learned about the facility when I saw it on Groupon and ended up booking Reedy for a night last-​minute when I needed to go out of town. The place is cute, Jennifer was helpful and caring, and Reedy had already warned up to her when I picked him up the next morning– which pretty much never happens with him! He was happy and worn out– two signs he had a good time. The location is a little out of the way for me, but it’s totally worth it. So glad to have found a place I trust with my fur baby!

My dog LOVES going to the CCS facility! That was not the case with another facility that we have used in the area. She used to cower when we brought her. At CCS, she gets excited as soon as we pull into the parking lot. I know that she is in great hands with Jennifer, Alicia and the rest of staff. I recommend this place to anyone I know who is looking for a pet sitter or boarding facility.

After none of my friends volunteered to watch my birds while I was on vacation, I checked into the area pet services. I first found CCS here on Unilocal and with an average of 5 stars reviews, I did additional research on their website, facebook, and etc and determined this was worth the shot and looking after my pets.
I contacted the owner, Jennifer, to find out more information and she provided more information and an estimated price of CCS’s services. There were additional fees added later for holiday, gas, and then a last minute day addition but nothing unreasonable and nothing I didn’t expect.
The sitter was great. She came over once prior to my vacation for a consultation and to meet the birds. I mentioned all the peculiar things about the birds, told her where the food would be and what she could do to give the birds some attention.
While I was gone, she texted me status updates and pictures, she changed the lights so that people would know someone was coming in and out, fed the birds, played with them and even cleaned their cages.
The daily log was great to see when I got back from vacation.
Great service. Friendly staff and owner. I will definitely use them again!

We use CCS for our pets and have never had a worry. The sitter has always brought in the mail, took out trash, cleaned the litter, etc. as requested.
Report cards are nice for after you get back to let you know what happened while you were away.

We are very particular about the care of our pets, and can also say we’ve had experience with dog walkers in several different cities we have lived in. I have been so happy not only the level of care and attention given to our two dogs, but the ease with which I could contact the Critter Sitters to make changes to the schedule, or communicate things about my dogs. I really liked that I got to personally meet each person who would come in contact with my dogs. There were times where I left specific directions for care (eg. taking special routes, changes to food, etc.) and never had any issues with the instructions being followed to the tee! Jen and all her staff have been absolutely wonderful and I cannot recommend them enough!

I have used Carolina Critter Sitter twice on very long trips and could not be happier with them. Before each appointment, clients fill out a file on each pet and the sitter comes to your home to meet the pet (s) and get acclimated with the area. While away, you can always contact them for an update and questions and they provide a daily ‘report card’.
