History

Established in 2013.

In 2008, Dr. Suzanne Bird opened Bird Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics in the Cedar Walk development. This practice has thrived beyond belief to the point in which we have had to bring on a Pediatric Dental Partner, Dr. Gulati and open an orthodontic practice, Braces by Bird, across the street to meet the demands. Braces by Bird opened its doors in November of 2013. Dr. Bird has expanded her services to include treating adults, not only kids and teens as done previously.

Dr. Bird graduated with Honors from the UNC School of Dentistry. She obtained a master’s degree in pediatric dentistry from The Ohio State University and Columbus Children’s Hospital. She completed her education by obtaining a Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from the University of Missouri in Kansas City.

Dr. Bird is board certified in Pediatric Dentistry and is an active member of the following organizations:

Dr. Bird is one of a handful of dentists in the United States who is both an orthodontist and a pediatric dentist. She specializes in doing orthodontics on children of all ages. She closely follows children’s facial growth and space needed for permanent teeth. She often can guide her patients’ growth and development by starting orthodontic treatment at an early age if needed.

Very friendly staff, great kid friendly office! Dr. Bird is very personable and she personally explains the treatment plan. Kari is wonderful with her communication. Love the texts and emails so I don’t forget the appointments!

Another family referred us to this practice. Dr. Bird has a good practice, and they try to entice patients to care for their braces by offering point incentives. But, the only thing that I don’t understand is why they don’t make a bigger issue of it to the parents or the patients. As a parent, they have never said «So & so has «x» amount of points, so today she can redeem them for _​_​_​_​_​_​_​, or she can keep accumulating them to work towards _​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​. We have been there for two years, and my daughter lost interest because of this, so she doesn’t worry about wearing her «Bird» shirt, and she has never received any sort of prize for her point accumulation.

Our family is so happy with Braces by Bird. This is our second child getting braces and both of our experiences have been top notch. Marinella was excellent at putting my daughters anxieties to rest before and during her putting her braces on. Dr. Bird is so great with all of the kids and the office is high tech and beautiful. We highly recommend Braces by Bird for orthodontic needs!

They are the best! They were highly recommended by a good friend. When we arrived I had my newborn in her stroller and they were very friendly and had plenty of space to get around. The office is very nice, modern looking and clean! I was able to leave my 12 year old daughter there for treatment while I tended to my newborn. Before treatment they discussed payment plans and explained the process and procedure to me and my daughter. They explained very thoroughly to my daughter how to maintain them with proper hygiene. Everyone was super friendly. My daughter liked how nice they were to her and that they gave her a T-​shirt and nice bag of stuff! I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Wow! What an awesome pediatric dentistry practice! I moved here from Florida this past Summer and my daughter was already well into her braces treatment — Dr. Bird jumped right in and finished the job within a few short months and my daughter is very happy with her new smile! Everyone at Braces By Bird that I’ve worked with has been so welcoming and friendly! I look forward to continuing to have them treat my daughter as her pediatric dentist. Dr. Bird Rocks!

Braces by Bird is fantastic! My daughter was so nervous about getting braces. The team talked her through every step and had a lot of patience. She came out of the office beaming and relaxed. As a parent the experience was so easy end to end. I received very detailed information about the plan, expenses and ongoing treatment. Everyone was great! We are very happy patients.

My son began treatment with Dr Bird in their original location and then followed the growing office across the street to their beautiful new location. My two older children went to two other orthodontists in town but neither could compare to the level of professionalism at Dr Bird’s office. They made him feel comfortable and answered all of our questions. The hygienist always walked out with him after his appts to give me an update. The office staff is also very professional and responsive and are great with setting up appts that work with your schedule and your child’s. I highly recommend this wonderful practice!
