Specialties
Here are some highlights that set us apart from other bartending schools:
Class Sizes — We keep our class sizes small to ensure that the instructor-student interaction is as close to one-on-one as possible. This allows our instructors to set a pace that is unique to each student.
Curriculum — Our curriculum focuses on both classic and contemporary cocktails, giving all of our graduates the best possible base knowledge for any bartending opportunity that they may pursue. We also familiarize our students with beer and wine knowledge, as well as popular liqueurs/cordials. Additional class time is devoted to garnish preparation, station set-up, health and safety standards, state-specific alcohol and beverage control laws, bar terminology and bar etiquette.
TIPS Training –TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) is a skills-based training program designed to prevent intoxication, drunk driving and underage drinking. This certification is a recognized responsible alcohol service course in North Carolina and all of the other 50 States, as well at the District of Columbia. All students (unless their TIPS certification is current) will undergo a course to be certified automatically.
Take Home Practice Kit — All of our students are given home practice kits that allow them to reinforce their pour skills.
History
Established in 2015.
Founded by bartenders and bar owners, Bartender’s Academy was envisioned when we saw a lack of a proper bartending school in the Charlotte area. The other ones will simply have you memorize recipes, with to practical and «hands-on» application of learning the trade. Here at Bartender’s Academy, you will be behind a bar, learning to craft «mocktails,» as we use water for all drink preparation. This allows our students to prepare hundreds of drinks to perfection.
