Animal Medical Hospital

My dogs have benefited from care at this facility. Dr. Laity has been especially great with regard to treating my dogs as individuals. The other vets have been wonderful as well. They will spend a lot of time examining and explaining. My only concern is somewhat universal with all vets. I often don’t know what to expect financially, but they always offer options, so that helps. We’ll continue to be patients, and happily so.

Love this place! The staff is very courteous and attentive. Facility is always clean and the animals are cared for so well. They email notifications and reminders which is really helpful. They also have great weekend hours! Thankful for the awesome work these guys do!

Overall Animal Hospital is great. Very clean environment, friendly staff all around, and a really nice facility… they have turf outside and fake fire hydrants and dog friendly objects like that.
The vet was super nice and I felt comfortable bringing my dog there. The only downfall is that I went there for something simple for my dog and left paying over 100 $. Which I guess is expected at the vet. It’s kind of like going to get your oil changed, you don’t really know what they’re talking about so you just agree to everything blindly. And I’ve done this in the past but it wasn’t as expensive. Tucker, my dog, ended up getting a few shots and heart worm prevention stuff which he’s gotten before and it was much cheaper. Maybe because it was a different location in a different state but regardless I was pretty sip rises how much I had to pay.
But regardless, it was a good experience and I’ll probably bring Tucker back when he needs his check-​up again.

I had brought my puppy Charlie in with parvo. The staff immediately got to work. They were very thorough. They always kept a open line of communication. I was called everyday with a update and also encouraged to call anytime. Treating parvo can go well into the thousands but they have a 950 flat rate which is a lot but better than 2 or 3000 and is worth it. Charlie is doing great and out family is whole again.

My wife loves the fact that this place is ²⁴⁄₇. I personally view it more of as your neighborhood pet’s ER. It’s awfully expensive for just about everything you get here. I would shop around for your pet’s spa and manicure needs, but they are a professional, well maintained business, and we have high confidence with their facilities for some more of the advanced procedures like dental work.
Honestly the thing I like the least is unfortunately in my case, probably unavoidable. Every time we visit, we meet a new doctor. I think maybe twice we’ve had a doc we remembered. Not sure if that’s a turnover thing, or if perhaps it’s a compromise I need to live with for the convenience of some of their «sure, come get a bordatella shot anytime for $ 200» availability; but I’d much rather a doctor get to know my dog a little bit and not get freaked out when my 12 pound fluff ball of terror’s chart pops up with a «Might Bite» warning sign flashing in bright red letters on their computer screen.

Our dog loves coming here. We board on dog over weekend trips and she is always a happy camper when we pick her up. The facility is so nice and clean and the front staff is great! Shocked by the other reviews! Minnie loves it there!

If I could give a zero, I would. My dog died there. They showed no compassion, put her in a box and set her on top of a trash bin (witnessed through the door window), wanted their money immediately, and then tried to usher us out a side door. I called the owner of the clinic to complain, but he told me I must have been mistaken. WTF?

This hospital is phenomenal! I bring my super temperamental kitten to see Dr. Jaime Laity and her amazing assistant Stephanie. Both are so professional and love my little guy, even though he is not the easiest cat to handle.
I am always provided with the best service and most compassionate care when I walk through the door. I wouldn’t trust the care of my baby to any other facility. Extra bonus– I am comforted by the fact that my regular DVM is also an emergency care provider. I don’t ever have to worry about taking my baby to another practice in case of an emergency at night. That gives this pet owner peace of mind, which is major, especially in an emergency situation.

The only reason I’ve visited this hospital is because there was a $ 150 credit to, my cat, Elaine’s account there after I adopted her.
MAH is a very nice facility. However, your bill will be a tall one with every visit.
My cat swallowed a foreign object and the vet claimed it would not pass on its own — that it would need to be surgically removed. I left her over night — I work night shift and had to drop her off on the way. They placed an IV and gave fluids. Animals can receive fluids subcutaneously (this is cheaper) but they charged me for the actual IV placement, monitoring, etc. When I arrived in the morning they repeated X-​rays and stated that the object had not moved. It would cost $ 3000 for surgery.
I checked her out and took her to my home town — this doctor said she could do it for less than $ 1000 the next day. Elaine pooped out the object the next morning — after reviewing the X-​rays the object had actually made progress in the bowel despite what the MAH vets claimed.
The surgery would not be necessary and a lot of the things they did (iv placement, etc) just racked up a charge.
Needless to say I won’t visit again.

I LOVE AMH! I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone with furry friends at home. I have brought my big chocolate lab there for all of his puppy vaccines, sick visits, and his neuter. He recieved the best care every time! They iced his incision site post op every 4 hours to help reduce swelling and they just recently got a therapeutic laser which helped his healing process tremendusly! It’s hard to keep a lab still. Dr. Goode and Dr. Caltagerone are the ones who have seen my boy and they seem to care about him just as much as I do. BONUS: they are also awesome for boarding giving you pet awesome long play times. They’re open 24 hours for your emergency needs or even just my crazy questions over the phone at 2am. There’s also a few doctors there that will see exotics! My friend took her bunny there to be neutered and, one day, while I was waiting for my appointment, a lady was bringing in her snake! What more could you want in an animal hospital.

AHH is an excellent place to take your family (some people call them pets); whether it be for a regular check up, emergency care, or a simple boarding/​grooming. I’ve used all of these services at one time or another at various hours in the day. The staff is always welcoming and very knowledgeable.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET TO THIS FACILITY. The front staff is horrible, the wait times are outrageous and they scam you for everything. Please do yourself and your pet a favor and go somewhere else. This place is going down hill fast.

Very disappointed with this vet center. Their old school treatment regimens leave much to be desired and they are clearly charging for profit rather than a quality level of care. The medicine prescribed to my dog made him very ill and in response I had to bring him back in (for an after-​hours office fee) for the vet to try to prescribe antibiotics (to which I said no since my dog clearly did not have an infection) and told me to go to a drugstore and buy my dog an over the counter acid reducer for his upset tummy! Wtf! Now he has been diagnosed with pancreatitis in which I have to wonder if it was caused by the incompetent care he received at this hospital.

In the recent incident my dog is suffering from a heart condition and this place thought it was more important to jam in the same procedure twice instead of treating my dog. After an hour and a half of sitting there, my dog still has trouble breathing but animal medical hospital has their $ 300. The most important thing to them.
I have been taking my two dogs here for a few months and they are the kings of double charge. They love to give the same exam multiple times and nail you for a $ 300 fee each time around. This fee is in addition to the hours of waiting that you do there. Would only recommend if you like to pay double for each thing wrong with your dog.

Dr. Gray is amazing! I bought a female yorkie puppy and found out that when I picked her up from the breeder that she already had ring worm. Dr. Gray was able to help us during this process, help our little girl and also treat our 2 year old yorkie boy as well– after her got it from her. She was very sweet to both our our dogs and extremely responsive when we needed more antibiotic spray and special shampoo to help the spreading. Needless to say she is the best vet we have had and I’m glad that when we moved her from WI we had made the right choice when choosing her.
***** Animal Medical Hospital also has a great puppy plan which helps making all the shots and health visits affordable. And to top that, Dr. Gray told us they price match, so we have been able to save about $ 50 so far in the last two visits by comparing prices online while waiting. :)

I am so disappointed with this hospital. This was the second time I came here, and each time was a HUGE disappointment. I am never returning. EVER. The vet’s name is Melissa Schupp.
First, I arrived around 2:35 on a Sunday afternoon. I called two hours ahead of time to schedule an appointment because I knew Sundays would be busy; this is because many other animal hospitals are not open on Sundays. My dog was suffering from unknown allergic reactions with skin rashes left and right. I had just adopted him, and his skin had recently become infected and rotten-​smelling.
I called ahead of time, gave my details, a $ 77 quote and they reserved a room for me. When I arrived the room was already reserved and I was led straight in. I initially thought I was going to have a great experience because of the quick room preparation but BOY was I wrong. When I was led into the room that was «prepared,» there was water all over the floor and the front desk lady hastily used paper towels to clean it up. I waited the standard 30 minutes in the smelly room until the nurse came into to check details, run temperature and give my dog a general physical. Then she left for AN HOUR. By this time it was already 3:35, and my dog was whining from pain and discomfort in a closed off room. When the nurse returned and began to write down symptoms, my dog actually started peeing on floor. I didn’t know what to do because I had no cleaning materials with me, so the nurse stepped into action and dropped a few paper towels on the ground. She didn’t manage to soak up all the urine, so when she moved around, my dog was pushed into it and it ended all over my clothes when she asked for my to carry my dog onto the checkup table.
To make things worse, she left again for another hour, and checked in after the 40 minute mark to tell me the veterinarian would be with me after 1 minute. Ten more minutes passed and no one came. My dog was whimpering more and more at this point. Finally at 4:30, the vet comes in, smiling and kind, and asking me for doggie symptoms. I ask her about fleas, but I swear, this place was so profit driven that the VET DID NOT EVEN CHECK MY DOG FOR FLEAS BEFORE GIVING ME A PRESCRIPTION ON MY FLEA MEDICATION. The mere mention of «I think my dog might have fleas but I don’t know how to check for them» initiated a conditioned response «I’ll prescribe flea medication» WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE DOG. I asked kindly to hint to her that my dog might not have fleas because the itchiness could be a symptom of allergies. She then shows me how to check for fleas, but doesn’t find any as she shows me. She continued to write down a prescription for fleas on my bill without my knowing. Is this a professional business? How can they cheat people like this!
As I continued to ask questions to make sure what my dog had, the nurse seemed to reply with more things to run up my medical bill. She gave my dog a unnecessary skin scrape for mites TWICE even though SHE SAID that it didn’t seem like my dog had mites, she performed and charged me for the scrape all the same. Because I had never needed to have these operations performed, I did not know that it was an extra $ 30 to have skin scraped. She went to look at the scrapes under the microscope, and returned another hour later. By this time, it was 5:30 and my patience was running low. For three hours, I sat in a stuffy room, covered in urine and staring at my miserable dog scratching his skin to bloody scabby bits as the doctors and nurses neglected the both of us. Honestly, I was so frustrated, I didn’t even know what to do. I had never experienced such a horrible medical visit.
Around 5:35 when she returned, she apologized for being gone for an hour, and she said she had to look over a pet with a «real emergency.» I’m not here to disqualify her statement, because I understand that this is a real animal hospital and that other people may have pets who are dying. But I also understand that this is a FOR-​PROFIT animal hospital, and if they don’t even have enough vets to go around that I have to wait three hours for something that takes less than 50 minutes, I truly will never EVER recommend this place or ever set foot near this place again.
After she came back, she confirmed my dog had no mites, and gave me a pet «cone of shame» that I had asked for earlier. She told me it was $ 15 cone, and gave me flea medication and antibiotics for the infection. She hardly looked at my pet. The only part of the visit that was clear to my mind was that she kept saying «ow» when my dog nibbled at her fingers.
I excitedly hurried out and paid my bill. EXCEPT IT WAS $ 207. I let the vet CUT MY DOG for $ 32, the flimsy cone was $ 30 in addition to the $ 29 un-​needed flea meds. I cried.
I think my only mistake was coming to this hospital. Be wary of coming here as the more questions you ask to get a better idea of your dog’s condition, the more services and products they try to shove down your throat to earn revenue.

Awesome staff, awesome vets. My dog has had recurring conditions for a while now. Each time I bring her in, she is treated like family by the wonderful ppl at AMH.
The price is on the higher end, but the service
is well worth the price!

Dr. Sheahin is great as are all the rest of the staff members! The front desk ladies are very friendly and helpful. The vet techs are very good with my dog. It’s very nice that they donate a free vet visit and $ 200 gift card to those who adopt a dog from the humane society. The prices are very reasonable and they never make you wait too long. I am glad that I found this place for my pet care and I hope to go to them for years to come

It is really nice knowing there is a 24 hour place open to see my kitty Charlie in case it’s an after hours emergency. Of course it is more expensive than your vet, but like I said, this is more after hour emergencies. Staff here is very nice and caring, which means a lot especially for your furry family member.
I will add with some advise. They do a quote for you before they do any treatments. My original charge was going to be $ 300 range. Woah! I got is down by $ 150. Now every case is different but they will go over every charge. I asked for the cheapest. That my friends is they same with any animal clinic/​hospital/​or vet though.

Our dog was attacked by another dog and our usual vet was closed. Thank God for places like this. The staff was nice and the vet was extremely attentive to our dog and to us. The vet and the staff took the time to update us on her status and walk us through what we needed to do for her recovery. I love my vet, but I definitely recommend this place for emergencies or after hour visits.
