This company came recommended but I had a really bad experience. First off, the technician was an hour late because he said his GPS took him to the wrong address in Mint Hill (for the record, I punched in the address to the area to which he was speaking and nothing came up). Seemed like he wanted me to reschedule but I had already taken off work. Almost felt like I was inconveniencing him to come. When he finally did arrive, his immediate diagnosis was that I needed a new unit and that it wasn’t worth any tests. He did offer to pump freon in but said I’d have to pay for at least the first pound and that it could leak again. Which I understood. He then gave me a pretty outrageous quote (which was beat by several other companies handily). At that point not much was being done so I decided to end the service call then. In my mind, good customer service considering he was really late and didn’t do much would be to say «Hey, I’ll just charge you half the service call.» Nope. And when I mentioned that, he said it shouldn’t be his fault his GPS took him to the wrong place and I had to wait (to be honest, not sure where the blame would lie). His actual quote was for me to say that to him would be «shitty.» Not that I don’t curse time and again but I definitely don’t do so when meeting a client for the first time. All in all I feel like I got taken for a ride and wasted $ 100. I’m sure there are better technicians here (why I used Unilocal as a guide) maybe I got the bad apple of the bunch. Nevertheless, won’t be using Acosta moving forward for anything.

I would like to amend my post as Acosta reached out and did the right thing. Hopefully there were some lessons learned. I may not use them again, but I would still be encouraged by the other positive ratings/​comments on here.

Andy B cane to our house to look at our Hvac unit. We noticed that it had water in the pan and we’re worried. He came out super fast and fixed everything and also added some safety features so it wouldn’t be a problem again (our unit is in the attic so that was huge). He was friendly, helpful, and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend using him!

As a renter from a private owner, we have visits from Acosta every few months. Tyrese did an excellent job — going above and beyond what a normal technician from Acosta does. He checked the units per usual, but took the time to explain what he did, what we can do to cut energy costs and explained how the system works.

Really like these guys… very trustworthy. My first experience with Acosta was back in August 2013 when our AC went out at 4:45pm on a Friday. We were bringing home our newborn that day and it was hectic around the house.
The tech worked until 10pm to fix it. Very professional and repaired the fan instead of trying to sell me a new one.
Now we live in a new home and I use Acosta for their annual maintenance service.
They don’t spend tons of $$$$ on cheesy/​creepy commercials with Bobby and the old man in the van, which I think is why they’re affordable.

These guys go the extra mile, their employees care about the clients they service throughout the Charlotte area. They have always been very responsive when I have called for issues with my HAVAC. They don’t work off commission so they get your problem fixed with a reasonable price. I would recommend them anytime. Gregg is a master technician and will get your heating or AC problems taken care of.

My unit malfunctioned on Christmas Eve, heating instead of cooling during a very warm December day. I called Acosta, Darren H was at my home with in 15 minutes. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it with in another 15 minutes. Fantastic service, a true professional!

I had been somewhat happy with Acosta until after I paid in full, cash up front for a brand new unit. I’ve had the unit in place for ONE year and already have leaking and other issues which Acosta could not diagnose. They told me to pay for a plumber which I did and now they refuse to reimburse me. The will charge more money to come out and look at the unit, but at this point, Acosta has lost my business! I do NOT suggest using this company. There are many other companies out there that will work to earn and keep your business.

if i could give @acosta heating and cooling in charlotte nc zero stars i would. the experience with this company has been horrible the worse in my 30+ years of dealing directly with commercial contractors. they should have installed our 3 hvac systems to a commercial building on july 10, 2015. they no showed and failed to call us. i called them around noon that day and got «oh yes we have to come on july 14th instead. the 14th comes and guess what they still cant get the work done because they ordered the wrong size unit for twoe of them, and cant find the thermostat for another of the units!!! finally days later the install starts… finally they are all in and running. one problem they left a huge hole and exposed hvac unit in the ceiling of our meeting room. the meeting room in rented next week, will this be ready? the acosta tech stated yes we will have it done. the tech stated this to my team and to the guest that was renting the space next week for classes. well its not ready and today we have had to refund back $ 200 for each day its not completed. the technical crew that did the actual install were awesome they finally got the work done hvacs are in and cooling.
greg plunkett the sales rep very unprofessional and has treated this account very badly. he actually hung up on me this morning while i was explaining yet another ball he dropped. i have no confidence in them at this point… use your $ where you matter. integrity and respect go far, this companies rep showed us none. i can’t say for sure why we’ve been trated in such a distasteful and unprofessional manner, i hope the obvious reason is not why we were treated this way. i wont use them again and i intend to share this experience with anyone in charlotte who will listen.

Acosta H&C has the worst customer service in the world. They installed two new H&C in our home 2 years ago. Last week, during the heat wave, one of the A/​C units stopped working. Keep in mind it’s 100 degrees outside. I called & they said it would be a week before service. Three days later I called back & said they needed to do something. They said, sorry, but since we didn’t have a service contract we went to the back of the non-​service agreement line, too bad, so sad!, no exceptions! We called our neighbor who said they had an excellent H&C service company. I called them & they asked if the unit was completely not working & I said not working. They came out the same day. They said they give consideration to people who’s unit is not working at all. Not my PREVIOUS service company who installed the units less than 2 yrs. ago. Caveat emptor!

I screwed up my condenser unit while trying to clean the coil. I tried a few places but everyone said it would be a day or two before someone could come out. When I finally got to Acosta, the friendly on-​call technician Steve called me right back and came out the same afternoon. He was quick, honest, and did a great job. It was an excellent experience and I definitely would use Acosta again.

I cannot recommend Acosta more highly! They have been the ONLY heating and cooling company I have used since I became a home owner in 1997! Every technician is polite and knowledgeable. They are on time, always call ahead before arriving or if they may be running behind. I have never felt that they charged me unfairly, or needlessly. All the technicians answer my questions are I have really learned a lot from them so that I can keep my equipment at it’s best.
I have even requested certain technicians for my jobs.
If you care about maintaining your heating and cooling systems, I suggest you give them a call and buy their service package annually!
