I’ve been coming to Bunker Hill Barber Shop for a little over a year since moving to Everett. Finding a barber you can trust is a huge part of moving to a new place(along with finding a dry cleaner, take out places, etc) but I can safely say I made the right choice with Pat and the rest of the guys. I usually get my hair cut with Pat, and he always remembers how I like it. Even when not with Pat, I’ve never walked out with anything less than a great cut. Everyone takes their time to make sure they get it just right, which is amazing considering it’s only 22 bucks for a cut and straight razor neck shave. Only thing to note is that the wait can be an hour or more on weeknights after work, so recommend trying to beat the crowds. If you can’t, grab a chair and watch sportscenter, listen to the conversation, or catch up on some work emails. Trust me, it’s worth your time.

This is a great place to get your haircut. Pat is super nice and even when it’s really busy you don’t have to wait too long. Definitely recommend this place!

Stood at the front desk for 20 minutes, no one even acknowledged me. Seemed like the staff was too busy mucking it up with the locals to care about me, all I got was some awkward looks, almost like they were annoyed I was there.

Just tried Bunker Hill barbershop tonight. I walked in at around 6:00 and only had to wait for a minute or two. My barber(pretty sure his name is Steve) listened to what I was looking for, and got right to work. He was totally friendly and about 20 minutes later I was looking neat, clean and professional. Thanks for the great cut!

Best barber shop I’ve found. Everyone in here(I’ve had Pat, Mo, & Steve all cut my hair) knows their stuff, they give a consistent cut, and get you in and out as quickly as possible. Been going here since they moved down to Main St. and won’t go anywhere else anytime soon.

After moving from the South Shore, I needed to find a place that gave a hair cut other than a «boys regular». The guys here always remember you and remember what you like and don’t like when it comes to your hair cut. They are friendly and the line moves quick. Bring cash or you’ll be looking for an ATM.

As Boston/Charlestown of a place as you’ll ever get. Fast, friendly, affordable, and stylish hair cuts, + hours of operation that anyone can work with. This and the barber shop at Ball & Buck on Newbury Street(not so affordable) are my only go to’s.

Decided to come here for our son’s first haircut. They were phenomenal even with the fuss bucket our son was throwing. Old school barber shop, reasonable price, and really catered to our needs. Looks like we will be going back for more haircuts!

Very friendly guys working here. I strolled in on my way through town and one of the barbers was free but was on his phone. As soon as I walked in he told whoever it was on the other end that he’d call them back. Quite kind to make me not have to wait, especially since I was just a lowly walk-in. I’m a pretty simple style guy. I said fade, he said why not. We discussed the Olympics and what kind of people would want to learn and perfect the art of jumping 100 yards on skis. It was a quick experience but he was a gentleman and I was on my way again in 13 minutes. The price was $ 20 for the fade but you can’t really expect a place to stay in business on Main St Charlestown without some inflation. A good time with a good trim, I’ll be back.

I have been all over Boston looking for good barber shops, and this place is far and away the best. Its an old-school place with great people working there. Comfy leather chairs to wait, and usually ESPN on the TV. The guys that work there really take their time, and make sure you are happy with the cut. Plus they are cool guys to talk to, but dont feel the need to make forced, awkward small-talk. It is very clear that they know what they are doing, and take pride in their work. Sometimes they will cut your hair for the better part of a half hour, until it is just right. Considering that it is only about $ 4 more than what you would pay at Supercuts, it will be the best $ 4 you have ever spent.

Amazing gesture. I went in for a cut today since I lost a patch of hair on the back of my head from cancer treatments that I just finished. The guys there made me feel very comfortable as they talked to me about my options of attempting to blend or shaving completely. I wanted to blend it so I don’t look like a patient. After he finished and I went to pay, he told me don’t worry about it, he couldn’t let me pay to fix my hair from cancer treatments. What a kind gesture and a beautiful glimpse into humanity. They won a customer for life.

Just took our twin boys for their first haircut. My husband has been going there for years and couldn’t wait to bring the boys. Pat Owens is such a great guy and he was so good with them. This place is so popular you have to come early to beat the crowds. Thanks for taking care of us Pat!

I’m from out of town, and found this place by chance on my way to Bunker Hill. I wish I could find something similar in Chicago. They did a fantastic job, and the haircut was just $ 20 despite including a straight razor shave on the back of the neck. I’m sometimes a bit apprehensive about straight razors, but the store was exceptionally clean and the blade was disinfected right in front of me. I’d highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great haircut in a barber shop with a classic feel.

Great haircut though a bit on the pricey side. When I visited, there were only 2 guys working with a room full of customers so the wait was somewhat longer. They’re very careful to figure out exactly what you want and do a great job while working.

Step back in time to a true old school Barber Shop. The owner grew up in Charlestown and has restored Barber Services to an artform.
