Some people are offered cocktails not not all clients. Some hair stylist offer 20% off on your first visit, but when they switch you to another that discount isn’t honored. I had Lauren do my hair, spend $ 200 for a bad cut and color job. I just moved to the area so I gave her the exact colors my old stylist used but said it was too light. They also used Wella hair dye but it took and 1.5hrs for the color to develop with my old stylist and Lauren did the highlights in 30 min, meaning she used more bleach and left it on for less time, which really dried out my hair. In regards to the cut, she couldn’t offer any opinion at all as to what would look good. Not the worst but not worth the prices, for $ 200 I should get better quality and be offered a glass of wine or beer like the the people in the salon.

I am reviewing Debralee Etherton, the only stylist I see at Ambiance (or anywhere). I used to be a Newbury Street snob and would splurge at Mario Russo because I’m very particular about my color. Debralee is an amazing colorist, and recently attended the Vidal Sasson academy in Santa Monica to keep current with advanced cutting techniques. She has been my only stylist for over a year now, and I am very happy with her talent, professionalism and prices. Highly recommend her.

Cant really give a fair review as my appointment never happened. I was gifted a groupon, for my birthday, for a massage and a facial on 11÷11÷11. On 11÷29÷11 i was called and was told the groupon was canceld due to them «losing» their massuse. Mainly disapointed in the fact that they waited18 days to cancel, just 12 days prior to my appointment.
They sold over 600 groupons for this deal, guessing I’m not the only one left annoyed by this. They did offer to give me the facial at the full price of the groupon, but I declined.

I received a notice from Groupon that the deal I purchased had to be cancelled as the salon has closed. FYI.

Ambiance is fantastic! I went to Debralee following a botched cut at another salon and have kept coming back. She not only fixed the messed up bangs, but also gave me a great cut. She has an amazing knowledge of the latest styles and is able to tell you what styles will work for you and what won’t (or what you could do to make it work!). A few weeks ago, I bit the bullet and got a Keratin treatment with Debralee. I have a TON of really thick hair, and didn’t think it was going to work, but it did. Debralee did a fantastic job! The Keratin treatment was amazing. I could not more highly recommend a stylist.

Shawna Pelton gives the best facials and does great waxing. I have very sensitive skin and she always does a «bump free» job. that’s a first, as i always have «bumps» after. Great salon, very friendly people.

I have been going to Ambiance for blow dries for special events (weddings, etc.) for over a year now. It is very convenient to home. I was getting tired of the cuts I was getting from my regular stylist in the North End so a couple weeks ago I decided to get a cut at Ambiance. I saw Deborah Lee and she did an awesome job! I have received compliments on my cut almost every day since. Prices are fair and in line with other salons in the area. They also do massage, facials, and waxing, which I have yet to try, but plan to. The salon itself is really cute too, very bright, very clean. If you live/​work near Charlestown, I would definitely recommend this place!
