Tom Smith opened The Law Offices of Thomas A. Smith at the end of 2013 to give a truly personalized legal experience in the greater Charleston Area. He believes no legal matter is too small or too big and will help you to the best of his ability. The offices are located in the heart of downtown in the Franke Building. Convenient parking can be found in the Cumberland Street Garage at the corner of Church and Cumberland with covered access directly to the Franke Building.

Tom Smith received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina in Criminology and Criminal Justice in 2004. Smith then attended the University of Memphis School of Law earning his Juris Doctorate in 2008. Tom was an active class representative to the Student Bar Association for two years and participated in Moot Court Competitions while in school. During law school he was chosen to work for the Shelby County District Attorney General’s Office, where the Tennessee Supreme Court gave him permission to practice law as a student under supervision of the DA’s office. He also completed a semester abroad studying International Criminal Law as well as Maritime and Oil Law at the American University in Cairo, Egypt.

Tom Smith is licensed to practice law in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee while his practice is located in Charleston, South Carolina.
