History
Established in 2012.
Owners Justin and Jamie Parfrey wanted to create a great place to hang out, have fun and experience James Island’s only true raw bar. After months of planning, a little luck and a lot of hard work Salty Waters Rawbar & Grill opened August 24, 2012. So come out, sit back and enjoy a drink and some great seafood!
Meet the Business Owner
Justin P.
Business Owner
Justin began his culinary journey at the age of 20 when a passion for cooking at home drove him to get a job in a small golf course restaurant. After a year of learning the ropes he decided it was time to further his education. He moved to Charleston, SC to attend the renowned Johnson & Wales university where he earned his culinary arts degree. Shortly after completing his degree he was offered an entry level position at the famous Water’s Edge restaurant on Shem Creek. Justin worked under chef/owner Jimmy Purcell learning as much as he could about fresh local seafood. After several years of work at Water’s Edge Justin decided it was time to branch out and began working on the business model for Salty Waters. The rest is now history!
