I’m a fan of this place because it’s different(small, soft lighting, like a little book nook except it’s a little wine nook) and because they have the best Moscato I’ve ever had… If you’re looking for a chill, romantic, cute little place, this is it. Their food is good also and they have a if you’re familiar with those. I’ve also met the owner and you can tell he takes pride in what he does… and he wants you to enjoy his place.

incredible find, the cheese plates with crackers, Brie and jam, nuts and hummus was delicious, as was the bottle of red wine we ordered. Our server, Kevin, was so knowledgeable about the wine selection and a great server, he was just terrific! We were really lucky to make this stop on our vacation and I would highly recommend others stop here, it will be worth your time. Even back in southern CA, I have told a few of the local high end wine bars about this place, and they don’t compare. This place was the best!!!

Came here with some girlfriends as we ate and drank our way around Charleston. The vibe is super cool– low lighting, old wooden chairs, and a delicious woody smell. We decided we wanted something with sparkles(re: bubbles) so we split a bottle of Prosecco. The guy working was very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our bottle, people watching and conversation without feeling like we were bothering anyone. I think my favorite part about this place is it literally feels like a hole in the wall– narrow, but not stifling and tucked right off the road. Will definitely come back again to sample their robust wine list.

Amazing wine and cheese/charcuterie. Great service and a total joy to dine here. It is laid back for a wine bar, which I love as well!

This is a very quiet refuge from the craziness of Charleston. Of course, by it’s very nature it has a limited menu, but what is available — carefully carved slices of meats, different kinds of high quality cheeses — is first rate. This is not a place to chow down. It is a place to take your time and savor the many unique tastes available. My wife had a Riesling and I had a dry red. Both wines were excellent. We ordered sliced duck, and thinly sliced beef as well as a variety of cheeses and olives. The sauces that were served were delicate and tasty. The service was unobtrusive and polite. We spent well over an hour there, just quietly enjoying our food and talking softly. While it did not seem filling we both realized that we didn’t want to eat again for the rest of the day! I would highly recommend this place for a very different and unique dining experience.

This is a nice little place on Meeting St. But it’s extremely expensive for snacks. The cheeses and charcuterie were good, but pretty small portions. Our tab was $ 50, but I’d say it’s worth about $ 30 at most.

You will not find a better wine bar anywhere! A beautiful space to hang out and relax with a glass of wine or two and snacks. First thing you notice is the antique hardwood bar, seating for 4. Intricately carved, with dark varnished wood with inlays and sturdy round columns — they just don’t make ‘em like that anymore! Several tables of many sizes, all different and antique-looking. We spread out on a large rectangular farm table as there was no one else there at the time. The staff consists of one, who is bartender, waiter, and cook all in one. So expect to be there a while. He’s great; very friendly, knowledgable about his wines, and obviously enjoys what he does. He’ll answer your questions if you have them, leave you alone when you prefer, give you the remainder from the bar bottle for free, even throw in extra bread with your take-home box without asking. A nice selection of 15 or so wines by the glass, from many regions, all of which I’ve never heard of so it was nice to try some new things. And we liked both glasses so much that we bought a bottle of each to take home. It’s also a shop. The walls are lined with wine shelves. You can buy anything you drink, and many more. I wouldn’t be surprised if you could talk him into opening any bottle you wanted, to buy a glass.(But don’t tell him I told you that!) The menu consists of cheese platters(pick any 3, 4, 5, etc. from a wide selection). Also charcuterie selections and other small plates. We had a hummus plate, mixed olives, and bresaola(Italian cured beef). Served with a basket of very good fresh bread and fantastic olive oil. All excellent. This is not a standard restaurant meal with courses. All«appetizers» or «tapas», cold, but there’s also a salad or two and a couple dessert options. You could easily make a meal here if that’s what you want. Or just hang out with a glass. You’ll be comfortable here either way. Also occasional music events, wine tastings, etc., as if you needed still another reason to come. What more could you want? Why can’t this place be near me back home???

We had a gift certificate here. The proprietor is very knowledgeable and at the ready to make recommendations. Get the Humboldt cheese! Has a nice bite you won’t regret.

Excellent wine selection and charcuterie boards away from the college crowd on a quiet, informal section of Meeting Street.

I enjoyed this place. It is very small and informal and the bartender was very friendly and chatted with us a little bit about the place. The night we popped in, there was a musician and I thought he was great for the ambiance. He didn’t need a speaker because the place is so small, so it was just him and his instrument. After he finished, he sat down with a table of ladies that wanted to talk to him… the whole place just had a nice small town feel where everyone knows everyone. We were only there for wine, so we picked out a bottle and paid a corkage fee to have it opened, it was decent. Overall, I liked it for the casual feeling.

Very unique atmosphere and wine selection. Cheapest glasses are about $ 8 and you can get a charcuterie for about the same price. They also have a small selection of craft beers. If you are looking for a chill place to drink good alcohol and get away from the college crowd, give this place a try. Sometimes they have live jazz on the weekends

This is a nice place to stop and have a glass of wine and some cheese or a snack. We stopped here after a long walking tour for a much needed drink. We got the smoked salmon and two glasses of wine. They brought out some complimentary bread and oil for us as well. I assume their cheese and meats is the way to go when ordering, but the smoke salmon was pretty good — a little TOO lemony maybe. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was cute and quaint.

Walking by this place, you would never know they served food as it just looks like a wine store, unless you saw people eating. I had a coupon that I wanted to use, so visited on a Friday afternoon with a friend. The small plates on their menu are not that small. We ended up getting 4 small plates and a 2 choice cheese plate and ended up having to take some food home. As a local, I wish it wasn’t smack dab in the middle of a high tourist location, but that’s really my only complaint. Our server, was aloof but nice, and let us chat away without bothering us to move along. In the two hours we were there, we were the only ones in the tiny place, which consisted of about 4 tables. This is an excellent place to have a glass of wine in the middle of the day if you don’t have anywhere else to be. Good people watching too at a table near the window. Really reminded me of Paris.

This place totally caught me off guard. It is very intimate, cozy, and welcoming — fantastic ambiance, wine selection and staff. The people are so nice! They have wines by the glass, bottle, and small plates available — many looked tempting. we decided on a cheese plate and it was delicious and huge… great value. I would definitely recommend this spot to locals and visitors alike. Word to the wise: check before you go.

We came in because I bought a livingsocial deal. We were pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere was dark, quaint, and very european. There was only seating for about 20 or so, which we loved. We were the only two in the place at one point, and loved being able to enjoy conversation, listen to wonderful music, and relax. The charcuterie plate was wonderful. We ordered two meats and two cheeses. It came with delicious bread and olive oil, pickles, fig jam, nuts, and grapes. Our friends who joined us had the bruschetta and smoked salmon as small plates… they seemed to really enjoy them. There was a pretty decent selection of wine… we opted for a glass of a red and white, rather than bottles. Both were delicious, although I thought it was weird that a «wine bar» didn’t used the same style of glass for the red and white… I thought we would see the correct glass for each wine, rather than a basic red/white glass. Service was great. We will definitely be back.

This charming little spot is manned by a single person at a time, with that said, I was pleasantly surprised with how sufficient the service was. Having only forgotten to get our water I was not disappointed. The charcuterie was great, they have many different options to choose from. The only small plate we tried was the hummus which was served with roasted red peppers. We were also served bread a long with the hummus but I would suggest they kept it traditional and added baked pita chips as oppose to the loaf of bread. The bread just did not seem to accompany the hummus the best. Their wine list and selection of wines along the walls is impressive as well. Overall, the food, wine, atmosphere, and service was great. We can’t wait to go back.
