History

Established in 1981.

Hay Tire opened its doors in June 1981 and is still owned by Henry and David Hay. This father-​son team is deeply involved in daily operations. They have seen many families bring additional generations of drivers to Hay Tire for their automotive needs, and they are also pleased when a visitor to our town stops by because a waiter or hotel desk clerk recommended us. The company has grown from a handful of employees to over 30 employees working in 2 locations (the second is in Mt. Pleasant), but the Hays have worked to maintain the feel and personal touch of a small business.

Meet the Business Owner

David H.

Business Owner

A Charleston native, David is very involved in the day-​to-​day operations of Hay Tire Pros. He is a graduate of the College of Charleston and serves a number of community and private organizations, including Charleston Breakfast Rotary, Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, and the College of Charleston Board of Trustees.

David and his father Henry Hay, Jr. started Hay Tire Company in June 1981 and have been providing superior customer service ever since. Joining Tire Pros in 2010 has enhanced the warranties and other benefits the company is able to offer customers. David is on the job most weekdays, accompanied by his lovable English black lab named Remus. David is happy to discuss tires, fishing, current events, or local lore with anyone at any time.
