Oh Five Guys, I generally love you but this experience was just so-so. My burger was really good. My fries, however, had some type of chemical taste every time I bit into the overcooked ones. My son said he didn’t notice it but he’s 7 so I don’t necessarily trust his taste buds. My biggest problem with this place was after I ordered, I watched the girl who was switching back and forth between the register and making food pick at her nose repeatedly, look at her finger and then– you guessed it — her finger ended up in her mouth. Of course, I also watched her put gloves on before she went back behind the divider but still…

Ever since Five Guys rolled into Mt. Pleasant close to my office, I became a fan. For a chain burger restaurant, it’s delicious. Fresh, never frozen beef. Made to order. And with all the bags of potatoes throughout the restaurant letting you know your fries are fresh cut, a good meal should be had. Well a new Five Guys opened up earlier this year, this time, just up the road from my house. Craving a cheeseburger the other day, I headed in. A little cheeseburger, small fry, and $ 7.75 later, I was on my way. The cheeseburger was great, and I still have fries left over, so it was worth the price point for me.
