Nice little spirits store. The people working here are very friendly and helpful. It’s a smaller location, so of course their selection is limited. Prices are about what you would expect. Just higher than your outer reaching spirit stores like Mt. Pleasant or West Ashley. But as I said, the nice people working here are very accommodating and are open to helping you get what you’re looking for. One important note. This was probably the cleanest store I think I’ve ever been into down town.

If wine is your primary interest, don’t bother stopping. Very limited and uninspiring selection. Didn’t take time to review spirits or beer, although the small size of shop suggests limited selection.

Ahhhh, my heart… there was a adorable sleeping pup in the store, who sticks out his little pink tongue while he slumbers and get this– he snores! I so wanted to cuddle up and nap with him. I am really not crazy, I just miss my pups, I promise. The store is located right downtown, across from the liquor free grocery store. So, pick up your mixers at the grocery and pick up the libations here. It’s a small store with a pretty decent selection. I didn’t see everything I would like, but you can definitely find something. They also had a decent airplane bottle selection, it’s nice to try before you buy.

Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka. Pour over ice and add a splash of water. It is my new summer drink. Do you know how many tea plantations are in the United States? One. In Charleston, SC. Apparently, as the story goes… a few years ago with the economic downturn and overseas competition, this local tea plantation was looking at closing their doors. Someone came up with the bright idea to distill the vodka with sweet tea right here in SC. Instant pandamonium! One drink while in town, and I’m hooked. The woman at East Bay Liquors and Wines was so helpful in providing me with the appropriate materials to protectively wrap my beloved bottle of cheer to take home on the plane. While she pointed out that I can purchase this back home, I wanted to support the local economy and bring home a little souvineer of my own with a story that is much sweeter than the drink.
