Very quiet and the massage was awesome. Came here based on the Unilocal reviews and it did not disappoint. Only suggestion (draw back) was that they don’t have a couples massage room. We had to go into separate rooms, which I was told would happen before I booked. Great service and they even accept the spafinder gift cards from Costco.

My husband got me a $ 200 gift certificate for xmas for a facial and a massage. I made the appt and made sure to tell the lady that I was 4.5 month pregnant and I wanted a prenatal massage. When I got to the appt. my massage therapist didn’t know I was pregnant and wasn’t planning correctly for a prenatal massage. She then took about 7 mins to get all the necessary pillows and I didn’t start my massage until 10 mins after my appt, but she ended my massage right on time which cheated me out of 10 mins. On top of that her stomach was growling very loudly the entire time of my massage. I know it’s not her fault, but it kinda ruined the ambiance for me. My facial was 10 mins late was that was okay since she ended 10 mins later so it was approx. an hour unlike the 50 mins massage that I paid for an hour. Overall everyone was nice and I was happy with my facial, but I don’t feel like it was worth the $ 200 experience.

I loved this spa so much that I went for a massage one day and back the next for a facial. Very relaxing and a must if you are on vacation and deserve pampering.

I was visiting Charleston for the long weekend, and my boyfriend surprised me with a massage. The spa was very relaxing. Everyone was really kind, efficient, and the spa had a soothing feeling without being over the top. I have had honestly, close to 200 deep tissue massages, and this was hands down the best one I have ever had. I felt so lucky to be have matched up with Margaret. She listened to exactly what I said in regards to where I had knots, how much pressure I wanted, and what areas I wanted worked. She was phenomenal. I will definitely seek her out the next time I am in town. Do yourself a favor and request her if you want a deep tissue massage.

Can’t say enough good things about my experience at Earthling Spa. I had an incredible Organic Purifying Detox with a 45 minute massage (focusing on my tense neck and shoulders). Jessica did a fantastic job and worked out knots that have been bothering me for ages. The entire experience was serene and well thought-​out. I was impressed and will be back.

I visited Earthling for a series of 4 treatments as part of my Bachelorette weekend and I loved the massage, the detox body treatment, and the peppermint paddy. My experience, however, was compromised when my facialist didn’t explain the facial she recommended for me (she just called it the «purity facial») and did INTENSE extractions without asking me. When I’ve had facials before, I’ve always been asked if I want extractions and I always decline, as my skin is very sensitive. I told the therapist about my skin sensitivity and that I’d be going out later that evening before the facial began. I left the spa with red blotches all over my face and actually developed whitehead breakouts since the treatment (which was 4 days ago) that weren’t there before. My skin looks much worse than it did before I visited and still hasn’t recovered. Again, all the other treatments were AMAZING but it’s very disappointing to still be nursing my skin back to health when I paid $ 110 for the facial.

Excellent post-​golf, pre-​dinner splurge. Both my husband and I had top notch massages. Everyone was so helpful & friendly from the moment we walked in until we left. Lots of other couples were there so he never had that «fish out of water» experience some spas convey. Women’s area included super clean showers (with rain heads!) & privacy with vanity space to dress up for the night. Lovely jewelry and spa items available for those who have the time to browse and shop. Great location. It’s on our must do list when we return next to Charleston.

It sucked and they just want to rush you out to get the next person in. No amenities and they will start your clock the second you get in the door. Had an hour massage. Only got 40 minutes I times it Very upsetting on my bday

This was by far one of the better massages in my life. Coming from Fort Bragg, I was hoping to find a place where they could massage out the rough spots and what a job they did.
First of all, the staff was very friendly and accommodating not only to myself but my family who was with me. They were great with recommendations on which treatment would be good for my back and legs.
Second, Vanessa was spot of with her technique and her job. She really knew where the pressure points to hit and smooth out. I believe I got the neuromuscular massage. I was a bit sore after but the next day after a good rest, I felt exceptionally loose and get like I could run a marathon.
Third, the spa is just wonderfully built right into the historic part of Charleston. You walk inside and think your in a beauty store but once they take you in the back, it’s like you were transformed to another building that’s more tranquil and quiet.
I would highly recommend this place for a massage. It’s worth every dollar you spend there.

Highly recommend! I booked a manicure and prenatal massage while I was in town on vacation. The massage was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was my first prenatal massage and the masseuse was very knowledgeable about them and did everything possible to ensure my comfort.
Loved the little tea area with hot and chilled options. The chilled Yogi tea was amazing, I even bought a bag in the retail store to take home with me! The locker rooms and waiting area are very nice, you can tell they put a lot of thought into creating a serene environment. I also appreciated that even though it was busy that it was still very quiet and peaceful. I’ve been to spas in the past where you can here other guests walking by your room or employees chatting. Not the case here.

Have had two visits to Earthling! One for a pedicure last year and one for a facial this year. I come from out of town and make sure I go for a treatment (and I always do some gift shopping). My experiences there are always top notch and the spa itself is just beautiful and relaxing. It is evident that a lot of effort goes into their choice of products and they seem to always be well in the game of new trends. I also think this is the best gift shop in town. Love to browse all of the lovely things! Can’t wait for next years visit.

Although I arrived 25 minutes early to my appointment, I was seen late. I paid for a 60 minute massage but only received 45 minutes of time in the therapist’s room. The therapy was mediocre. Unfortunately, I will not be back to Earthling and cannot recommend it to others.

In town for just a few days and in need of a massage. My therapist did a good job of targeting my problem areas. I had the aromatherapy massage & enjoyed it so much I bought the oil from their store. The spa itself isn’t big, but it was comfortable, clean & inviting. I really enjoyed browsing the shop in the front. If I lived here, I could definitely see some repeat visits.

I am a Charleston native and have been lucky to visit a variety of spas nationally and internationally. With that experience, I will say that all the reviews I read about Earthling are correct; Earthling has the pushiest sales people. If you receive a facial at Earthling, your esthetician will push their spa products on you. They will also try to upgrade your facial to a more costly one, all why emphasizing «no pressure.» Spas are meant for relaxation and while the rest of my experience was relaxing (I was gifted a package with several treatments), the facial portion was not for a few reasons. Sales pitches take away from the overall spa experience. Customers tend to want to relax and forget the world, not be positioned to buy products. If they want to buy stuff, they will ASK the esthetician. MOST IMPORTANT, one of the products the esthetician pushed was not right for my needs after getting it home. Basically, she told me all the products I currently used were crap and that their products were superior in skin care. Because it was my bday I splurged and purchased the face scrub she suggested for DAILY use in the morning. Well, as I sit here after one day of using it and my face is peeling, I decided to research it. It is NOT for daily use. It is a PEEL. The website for this product reads:

Variant a) — mechanical peeling: With slightly moistened hands, spread over the cleansed skin on face, neck and décolleté and massage in for 2 – 3 minutes using a circulatar motion, then wash off and apply the right skin care product.
Variant b) — enzymatic peeling: Apply as a mask to cover cleansed skin. Leave to work for 10 – 15 minutes, then wash off and apply the right skin care product.
Very disheartened and disappointed in the spa for this. It does not sit well with me that their esthetician is poorly trained in what products they use and what their purpose is actually for. Either that, or they think their customers are stupid, which is equally insulting. Will not return for a facial here. All other aspects for Earthling were on average for the Charleston area. Their waiting area could use better seating, instead of benches. If you have food with your package, you sit and eat it with all others in the waiting room, which is not relaxing. Walls are thin so you can hear people walking/​talking during your service. Shower/​locker room available. Other typical spa amenities available. Parking available. Overall, I would not recommend this spa.

Not sure if I can find a masage in Ohio that’s includes stretching like the one I got here. Nancy included the stretch in her routine and it was wonderful. My wife said she also enjoyed her massage with Morgan. If we get back in town I’ll certainly go back.

I’m not a regular massage client, but every once in a while when my days sitting at a desk catch up with me, I like to treat myself. So after some Unilocaling I found just what I was looking for – a great spot for a luxurious massage where I feel like I’m being pampered.
Earthling seems to be a spa/​pilates studio/​hippie boutique, so the entrance is in the kitchy store area. But once you check in they lead you back to a small dressing room that has everything you need – robes, sandals, lockers, showers and a good amount of products to freshen up with afterwards. Then you can sit in the serene waiting area and enjoy some tea before your masseuse welcomes you.
Valerie was really friendly and gave me a fantastic massage. She made me feel comfortable, made sure she was using the right amount of pressure, and that she was addressing problem areas. When we were finished she gave me a card for 10% off my next visit with her. Oh darn – guess I’ll have to go back!

Spent an amazing day here. Everyone was so friendly and helpful; from setting up the appointment to checking out. The changing area had everything you could need, and the fountain in the relaxing room was lovely. I started with the Sugar Glow treatment… wonderful. I followed that with a mani-​pedi & lunch ordered in… again amazing. The rest of the afternoon was spent in 3 hours of bliss… hot stone massage, Shirodhara ritual, and a steamy wonder session. Every session & treatment was perfect. Each therapist (3 of them) was knowledgable and did a great job. I will definitely rescheduled more appointments here when I am back in town! Loved the hot tea selection you had out so much I bought a bag. Thank you Earthling Team for a magical day.

Visiting from out of town and wanted a massage. This place is definitely in the «spa» category with good amenities and welcoming and relaxing environment. And they have their own parking lot which is great since there’s little parking to be found in Charleston.
Therapist Jamie did a great job. She addressed my concerns, was polite and helpful in recommending places to eat. (I always ask the locals where to dine, visit etc since they know best.)
Would definitely recommend it and should I come to Charleston again, I’ll be sure to come here again.

This is a great place to «escape» to and pamper yourself while in Charleston. I planned a girls weekend and a week before our trip there, I called this spa (thanks to the high reviews on Unilocal) to make appointments for 4 girls including me! Allie was phenomenal at booking the appointments and very patient while I went through the names and details of the services that each girl wanted. She made sure to ask if we preferred male or female massage therapists which I was impressed by and liked that they even gave us a choice!
On the day of our appointments, I was amazed by how organized this spa is and that they have the check in process down to a science. We were each escorted to the back where we filled out the usual paperwork and then given sandals and a robe to change into. Lockers were provided so that our belongings were secure. The bathroom and shower area was very clean. There is a waiting area surrounding the fountain area where you can relax and also wait until your service starts. There is complimentary water for consumption. Keep your conversations down though because I learned the sounds linger into the therapy rooms…
I had a 60 minute signature massage with Jessica. She asked about any issues and I asked if she could focus on my neck and back since I work in an office setting and my posture is horrible. So a majority of my massage was on those problem areas. It was amazing how she could feel the knots in my back and I felt her working out those trouble spots throughout my entire massage. She did this awesome stretching thing with my neck and turned it to the left and the right and forward. I almost felt like I was at the chiropractor! It was a rather relaxing massage but my only gripe was that the room is right off the area near the fountain so I would hear voices and conversations every so often even with the music on.
We were here on a Sunday and I was surprised by how busy this place was. Customers constantly coming in and out, both men and women. My friends got pedicures and were happy with their service. Make sure to set aside time to browse in the front of the shop. There is lots of beautiful and affordable jewelry on display for purchase and lots of other great gift ideas or if you want to spoil yourself some more.
One thing I would like to mention is that one of my friends got a 60 minute hot stone massage and a 60 minute spa pedicure. Based on the spa website, it should be a grand total of $ 150 before taxes. My friend mentioned she paid $ 200 before tip! But by then, it was too late to dispute since we were leaving the City. So I wonder if the girls at the reception desk charged her for a 90 minute massage by mistake. It seemed to be a huge discrepancy in price or they updated their prices and forgot to change on the website? So go over your services before you pay just to be on the safe side.
