This place is brand new and I think it’s off to a great start! I was so hooked after my first visit that I had to come back again the next night! The ambiance is great! Hand painted murals, and simple Japanese inspired décor. One thing that makes this place stand out from other sushi places is the variety of actual Japanese dishes. Not a fusion, but LEGIT dishes. The staff is very nice and I like that they are accommodating with the menu. They had no problem if I wanted something all vegetable, or switching the pork katsu for chicken. The prices are good and I love the variety of the menu. The onigiri is a triangle shaped rice ball filled with dried salmon flakes. Super yummy and a great appetizer. Japanese Pizza a.k.a Okonomiyaki is a cabbage pancake that is crispy on the outside, hot and delicious on the inside. It’s also topped with Japanese mayo and eel sauce. The tempura appetizer is cooked to perfection! Crispy batter on the outside, yummy perfectly cooked vegetables on the inside. The sauce that accompanies it is quite tasty as well. It is seasoned with a bit of a ginger kick and compliments the appetizer well. Oyako Don is a bowl of steamed white rice with steamed chicken, egg, seaweed, and green onion on top. The flavors were very yummy and the dish was hearty but not heavy. The miso soup that came with it was seasoned perfectly and was nice and hot. I also recommend the Udon soup. A big bowl of fat udon noodles swimming in a delicious udon broth, topped with vegetables, seaweed, and a protein of choice. Of course I had to try some rolls while I was here! The yellowtail roll was perfection for a sushi purist like me. Yellowtail, green onion, rice, seaweed. So simple but so delicious. I also tried the tripple roll which had tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and jalapeño. Beware, the jalapeño is hot! I wasn’t prepared for it and had to take it out, but if you love spicy food this roll is delicious and fresh. I would personally replace the jalapeño for green onion or cucumber. Some things that still need some work is that the service is a bit slow, and the menu has some typos. Other than that the staff is very nice and professional, the presentation of the food is beautiful, and I can’t wait to come back and try more things!
