Saw this place while exploring Charleston. Got a nice selection of cured meats, but was a little disappointed in the price considering the amount of meat we got. The meats were excellent and definitely have an artisan’s touch. Nice vibe but customer service was lacking.

THISPLACEISUNREAL! Love their food, décor. Small establishment with a few things to order from their glass display case. I would always get their burger. To die for! I have been all over the country and this is by far hands down the best burger I’ve had. I’m not sure what sets it aside? I’m assuming it’s the dry aged beef, sourdough bun, gov cheese and bacon jam. I would always wash it down with a boylans cola from the tap with their potato chips with fish sauce. My partner had their porchetta sandwich and bbq boiled peanuts — really good. I have no idea how their burger is not hitting the top 25 in the nation?!? Completely dumbfounded. I have had the burger at Husk as well and Artisans burger surpasses it.

Everything here is so good. The sausage special is always on point. Lots of meat if the name didn’t give it away.

Sooo good! Being an Italian from NY the meat block with wine was much appreciated and had great flavor. Little hole in the wall with big taste punch!

Delicious! The Nutty Knuckle is the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Also try the mac and cheese and the pea and peanut salad! I don’t think you could go wrong with anything you get though. Friendly staff too!

I really want to like like this place. As in the middle school lingo for crushing on a boy-you remember the notes-all«check yes or no if you „like like“ Johnny». I like them but i don’t like like them. Why? Maybe pricing. They are awfully nice, and very informative about what is what and how things are made… but, when I walk away with 21 dollars worth of a thin sheet packet of meat thinner than my first two page math quiz and I am still hungry fifteen minutes later have to wonder…

Some of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had in some time. Sausage was extremely tasty, delicious kimchi, perfectly cooked eggs and creative sandwich toppings. Hot sauces are fly too! Great service and a great alternative to other«biscuit» or «breakfast» places on King. Addendum: GETTHENUTTYKNUCKLE. In addition to great breakfast sandwiches, these are the best sandwiches around, period. Best sauces around, period. Best pork rinds around, period. Shall I keep going? Quickly becoming my favorite place to eat in Charleston. As an aside, we were very satisfied with their meat platters for parties. They just know how to do pork… period.

Best charcuterie board and sandwiches I’ve had in years. Definite must if you appreciate it for what it is.

After reading the great reviews, my girlfriend and I made a point of going out of our way to stop here for lunch on our last day in town. We were hoping for a fast and casual lunch spot with fresh and interesting food and that’s what we got! The space is set up like a classic deli, but is small and there is not much seating available with a few booths and a few seats along a high top table and a bar area. We were there in the mid afternoon so we avoided the lunch rush and were able to easily secure a booth. The service was prompt and friendly and we didn’t have a problem placing our order or getting help from the staff. We shared the Italian and Turky subs with a side of the pickles and chips and we both loved it all. I preferred the Italian sub as the mix of Italian cuts was spot on and made for a delicious sandwich. I also enjoyed one of their home made sodas! Overall, really enjoyed the artisan meat share!

I think it is a 4.5 but can’t give it a 5 yet. I really loved the happy hour deal with a meat tray along with a bottle of wine for $ 30. We had heard about it and decided one afternoon to stop by and try it out. What a nice tray of meat! 3 different sliced meats and pâté and head cheese. Probably could have done without the latter but really think it added to the experience for me. My wife thought much differently on that part. Came with a few pickles and onion and some baked bread and some good mustard. The house wine we got was red and we really enjoyed it. This is a great idea for a quick snack and bottle of wine. Heck enough food really for a light meal. I plan on going back and trying one of their sandwiches which I have heard great things about and I know their product is high quality stuff!

The food is just amazing with an awesome atmosphere. The curryworst was mind blowing. We also love to hit this place for picnic goodies. They are super helpful with babies. We appreciated them having a high chair(which a lot of charleston places don’t) and altering the menu to accommodate our little boy.

Not for me. My colleague really enjoyed her sandwich(the Porchetta), but decorated sandwiches usually aren’t my thing, but I’m always willing to try ya know. Came here the same day I went to goat.sheep.cow since they ran out of sandwiches there, and upon looking at the menu, nothing really called out to me. I ended up trying the hot fried chicken biscuit. Loaded up with hot sauce, pickles and a coleslaw like mix, it was pretty good. The biscuit was stiff, leaning on stale, but the meat of the sandwich was pretty good, but a little tough. The hot sauce was a great touch, and smelled up my office nice and spicy. But seriously though, $ 10 for a chicken BISCUIT is ALWAYS going to be too much so I can say with 100% assurance that I will not be back here. I saw on the way out that they had a turkey sausage dog as the days special(which I actually would have gotten if I saw it first), but still, $ 8 for a dog? Mannnnnn… I can’t, I just cant get behind that.

I really wanted to be able to give AMS all five stars because their meats and breads are fan-freaking-tastic, but I can’t turn that last star red because of the side offerings we’ve tried. I’ve been lucky enough to eat here twice and then again while enjoying their giant Italian sub at a party. Some of the top notch, hands down, best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. The bread, meat, cheese, ratio is always spot on and of coarse, so so very fresh. When it comes to the sides, our biggest issue was seasoning. We have tried the pea and Peanut Salad with green goddess dressing, local Bean Salad with sweet onion vinaigrette, and herb, the sweet Corn and Okra Salad with summer ranch, the Chips with fish sauce & vinegar, and the Barbecue Baked Peanuts. The only one that was a hit was the chips with fish sauce and vinegar. Always love my vinegar fries! As far as all the other offerings, maybe it was an off day, but nothing tasted like it had any salt and pepper and were all very bland. Even when I got the egg salad daily special sandwich, the egg salad was again under seasoned. I’ve heard great things about the mac and cheese so I won’t give up on the sides completely and will be sure to give it a try next visit! The staff has always been great and extremely helpful. I follow them on Instagram and around 11AM when they post the daily special pic, I have to use will power from way down deep not to jump in the car and head down there everyday!

If one thing’s for certain, AMS knows their meat. The same team behind Cypress on East Bay, Chef Craig Deihl is offering some of the most mouthwatering sandwiches in the Holy City, in addition to a huge selection of fresh cuts meats and homemade condiments. I quickly found myself returning again and again for their intensely satisfying Porchetta Sandwich, which comes topped with pork cracklings, caramelized onions and a generous smear of mayo. Second to the Porchetta, another one of my favorite sammys is their massive Pastrami. Their two-patty burger with bacon jam is also killer. AMS also has tons of great sides that pair perfectly with sandwiches such as their $ 3 pickles, $ 3 kimchi and $ 3 pea and peanut salad with green goddess dressing. I often grab their kimchi to go as well or one of their other condiments like their Korean mustard, which I put on my ham and cheese sandwiches at home. Next time I plan to go to AMS for happy hour for a beer and one of their amazing looking charcuterie plates. If you are looking for casual spot to curb a sandwich craving, AMS is your place. Must-order items: Porchetta Pastrami Kimchi

One of the best happy hour deals in town… if you like meat! For $ 30 you get a choice of a bottle of red or white wine and an epic charcuterie plate. I’ve always shared this and have yet to be able to finish all of the food. Each time I’ve had a different variety of meat, depending on what they happened to be serving that day. Their stuff is so good that I readily accepted and tasted head cheese. If it’s just you or one other person, I would recommend to sit at the bar. The staff is very friendly and will be happy to chat with you. They do have a couple of small tables and two nice sized booths. If you’re not in the mood for a giant tray of meat, they have plenty of sandwiches and specials for you to try. One other thing I love is that they have Boylan soda’s on tap! Parking can be tricky but there are parking lots in the area within a block’s walk.

This place may be slightly off the main touristy strip, but it certainly was a Gem, with a capital«G.» We happened to stay at the Holiday Inn on the corner of Meeting and Woolfe. Since our flight to O’Hare in the morning was cancelled and rescheduled to an afternoon flight. My best friend, Miss Unilocal, guided me to Artisan Meat Share for some quality cured meat and sandwiches. The young man who took our order made some nice recommendations. We were intrigued by the magnificent«cured meat» photo. Without a doubt, We knew that we wanted«that» for our pre-flight lunch. Their sandwiches were portioned generously, so Mama J. and I partook the tuna nicoise while Daddy J. had the breakfast sandwich all to himself. The cured meat came from the local meat shop. I’m a die-hard supporter for local businesses and was very glad to stick with my philosophy here in Charleston. That tuna nicoise sandwich used the cured tuna and red-wine shallot vinaigrette. Please don’t mistaken this as a regular tuna«salad» sandwich sold in a 7 – 11 convenience store or at a student cafeteria. If that was your understanding of tuna fish, I strongly felt that you needed to give the tuna nicoise a try because that definitely would give you a brand new perspective. Daddy J.‘s breakfast sandwich had a fried egg, so I bet it was very delicious. He devoured this poor guy in no time! The young man who attended us had great conversations with us. We loved the southern hospitality, but I knew it was time to head back to my matter-of-fact Chicago. Thank you, Artisan Meat Share. I will be back when I can.

Unique sandwiches, unique sides, and all top quality products. AMS is a success all around. If you know anything about AMS it’s probably that it’s all about those meats, ’bout those meats, no veggies, but it turn’s out there’s more to this meat share than meat alone. The sides are seriously out of control. Mac & Cheese… one of the best ever, house made chips with fish sauce… damn delicious, bbq baked peanuts… where have you been all my life? I guess the takeaway here is that the meat-sweats are great, but don’t forget these amazing sides! Now back to those fore mentioned meats. Everything is top notch whether you go for the cold or the hot sandwiches. I was a little less crazy about the BLT, but only because it was so wet from everything involved that it really fell apart and was a bit tough to eat. The Italian has been my favorite so far and I can’t wait to try more. Also on my radar is the meat boards, I haven’t had the chance yet, but I’m looking forward to indulging asap. Pro Tip: The Vanilla Soda is excellent and comes with free refills!

I ate lunch here, wih my sister, for the first time today(11−20−14). When we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman behind a large display cooler filled wih sausages, pickles, and cheese. We walked through the dining area to the end of the counter to order. Behind and in front of the cashier there were more coolers filled with delectible looking dry~aged steaks, forcemeats, and cured items. I was most impressed. I ordered the daily special-the spicy chicken torta, with a side of house-made potato chips drizzled with fish sauce and vinegar. My sister ordered an italian sandwich with a side of mac & cheese. Everyhing was AMAZE-BALLZ!!! Sadly, the sandwiches were so huge we could not finish, but now I have a midnight scooby-snack! The service is fast and friendly, the food is freshly prepared and amazing in quality, and they have a huge selection of speciality meats, charcuterie, pickles, and cheese. Do be warned though, they have very, very limited seating, so come early if you’d like to dine in. Yup, they are going to be seeing lots more of my sister and I!
