Private music lessons are offered in all instruments and voice, including piano and jazz piano, strings (violin, viola, cello, bass), woodwinds (clarinet, flute, piccolo, oboe, English horn, bassoon, saxophone, recorder), brass (trumpet, horn, trombone, tuba, euphonium), percussion (drum set, xylophone, tympani, hand percussion), guitar, electric bass, and voice.

Amadeus also offers extraordinary summer music and theater camps, jazz ensembles, chamber music, and orchestra, along with music theory, song writing, and electronic composition.

Suzuki violin and cello and hands on early childhood instrumental music programs are a wonderful way for young children and toddlers to begin their musical studies.

Students participate in frequent recitals and have the opportunity to hear their teachers perform. This combination of educational experience and performance enables students to reach their highest technical and artistic potential.

History

Established in 1995.

The Amadeus Conservatory of Music & Theater, a music school in Chappaqua, Bedford and Armonk, Westchester County, New York was founded in order to bring the highest quality music lessons and musical theater instruction to children and adults from the very beginning of their studies. Our international faculty is composed of enthusiastic and inspiring artists, graduates of the renowned Juilliard School or schools of like caliber who are dedicated to passing on their passion and expertise to the next generation. They have won major international competitions and set inspiring examples. They are dedicated to instilling in their students a love of music that will enrich their lives forever.

Meet the Business Owner

Deborah M.

Business Owner

Deborah Molodofsky is the Founder and Director of the Amadeus Conservatory of Music & Theater. Educated in both music and literature, she received a Bachelors of Music, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan School of Music where she studied with Paul Makanowitsky, the assistant of Ivan Galamian. She received a Masters of Arts in English Magna Cum Laude plus PhD (ABD) from Wayne State University, where she double majored in music and English studying with Mischa Mischakoff. Other notable teachers include Piotr Milewski, assistant to Dorothy Delay at the Juilliard School. She has also studied chamber music at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.

Interested in the intersections between music and literature, she pursued doctoral studies writing a dissertation on symphonic and atonal form in The Magic Mountain and Dr. Faustus by Thomas Mann and jazz in the USA trilogy by John Dos Passos.
